Darkness into light completed 2023 ✔️

As someone who has defeated suicide I was so so honoured to be able to do it
with my kids this year!

As much as they moaned at me for dragging them out of bed at stupid o clock I
honestly don't care....I am still here to annoy them....I'm still here to make
them do shit they don't want to do! They may be tired but they are not
grieving!!

But me getting them up and out wasn't just about my survival....its about
remembering those that we've lost!

My Dad! My friends!

There is 100% light after the darkness-you just have to make it through! I am
living proof of it!

Well done to all who done it!!

4:15am on Saturday the Sunflowers team walked 5km for Darkness into Light in the
Phoenix park. 10,000 people attended the walk here to raise much needed funds
and awareness of suicide and self harm. The Sunflowers team managed to raise an
amazing €1,189.29🎉 We want to thank everyone who so kindly donated to our
fundraiser for Pieta to help those in need of their services💛🌻🕯💛🌻🕯

Such a powerful event, a symbol of hope, a reminder the sun rises no matter how
dark it gets🌞

Communities coming together lighting the way for each other and showing support
for those suffering helps to remind us that no one is alone in their struggles.
We’re brighter together. Remember there’s always help available.

It’s a wonderful thing to do for our community and the money raised this year
will go to fitting out a Walk In Centre for these needing help and mental health
support right here in Estepona run by the incredible Afesol Salud Mental

It will then ask you to Join an Official Walk - here you choose your venue -
choose Spain.

Fill in your details, choose the venue …
Estepona, La Cala De Mijas or Benalmadena and proceed to payment and that’s it.

You will get an email confirming your registration.

The Estepona walk starts at 6am - we meet at the Blue Dolphin Chiringuito on the
Paseo near Carrefour (parking available directly opposite).

Then we walk to the new Mirador del Carmen and turn there and return to the
starting point.

Please wear sensible shoes and clothing (layers are a good idea) and your yellow
t-shirt. Bring a torch if you have one.

We are trying to reduce single use plastic waste so please bring your own water
(or tea/coffee too) in your reusable bottle.

Dogs are very welcome but must be on their lead at all times.

Please reuse your t-shirts from previous years if you don’t have one or it’s
your first time you can collect t-shirts on the morning of the walk.
Just bring along your proof of registration email.
