HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION * We use the personal information you provide – when you register for access to member-only information, or when registering for an MMA event, or for access to our white papers, reports and webinars – to complete the registration and to fulfill your information request. * When you register for an MMA webinar you may be asked to agree to share your personal information, including your name and contact information (e.g., email address), and any questions you submit during the webinar, with the sponsor or event host, if there is one. OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Credit card information is securely stored digitally on the MMA accounting service (Balance Financial) server and deleted when no further charges are scheduled or due. 6. OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN’S PRIVACY The MMA complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. Our services are directed at adults. 7. HOW TO ACCESS OR CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION The MMA is committed to providing reasonable and practical access to allow visitors to identify inaccuracies in their personal information and may also request to have information removed. Visitors may submit inquires about the accuracy of personally identifiable information they have previously submitted and requests to have it removed through the MMA Website or via email at mma@mmaglobal.com. When practical, the MMA will, upon request, modify or delete personally identifying information. 8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information. ANALYTICS TOOL MMA uses Google Analytics to perform web analytics on our website. Along with the data collected by standard Google Analytics implementation, MMA also implemented the User ID feature in Google Analytics in January 2015 in order to collect data about our traffic for the sole purpose of gaining a better understanding of the requirements of our website visitors. The User ID lets us associate engagement data from multiple devices and different sessions with unique IDs. All data collected by Google Analytics remains anonymous and non-personally identifiable. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE UK AND EUROPEAN UNION Our website can be visited by those in the UK and European Union and we do provide some services and events there. European data protection laws require certain additional information be provided and we have set this out below: 11.1. Lawful Basis The table below explains who we collect personal information about, what that personal information is and the purpose. The last column sets out the ‘lawful basis’ we rely on for processing that personal information which is a requirement of data protection rules. Our legitimate interests in responding to and keeping a record of correspondence. Some information is also necessary for us to perform our contract – for to fulfil payments and attendance at an event. Individuals who subscribe to our mailing list (SMS or email). Contact details provided. This information is given to us by you. We obtain your consent to any direct marketing. Website visitors. Information from cookies. This information is collected via the cookies when you use our website as explained in sections 3 and 10. We only install non-essential cookies with your consent. 11.2 Additional Rights In addition to your right to ask for personal information to be updated to ensure accuracy as set out in section 7 above, you may have the following rights set out below which you can exercise by using the contact details set out in section 12 below. Please note that these rights are not absolute and may be subject to exemptions or limitations depending on the circumstances. * The right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. * The right to object to your personal information being used for direct marketing. Where required we will obtain your consent before undertaking marketing. You will always have the ability to unsubscribe from marketing communications. For email marketing you can simply follow the unsubscribe link and for SMS you can follow the instructions for STOP as per the SMS you are sent. * The right to object to your personal information being processed where the legal basis for the processing is our own legitimate interests (see above) but this is subject to exemptions and we may continue to process your personal information in certain circumstances * The right to withdraw consent. Where we are processing your personal information on the basis that you have given us your consent to do so, you may withdraw your consent at any time. * The right of erasure. You may request that we erase your personal information. * The right to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may request that we provide your personal information to you in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format and have it transferred to another provider of the same or similar services to us. * The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. We suggest that you contact us about any questions or if you have a complaint in relation to how we process your personal information first however you always have a right to contact your data protection authority. 11.3. Transfers of Data MMA is a US based organisation (although some events and processing may be undertaken in the UK or EU including with partners or through our European councils) and our website is hosted in the US. Your personal data will therefore be held and accessed by MMA in the US. 11.4. Disclosures of Data We don’t pass your personal data to other organisations or companies on a routine basis. If we partner with a third party (for example in connection with an event or whitepaper) and your personal data will be disclosed to that party, then this will be disclosed to you at the time with details of that party. 11.5 Retention We keep your information only for as long as is necessary for the relevant purpose. For example, if we have a contract with you, this will be for no more than the contractual limitation period in order to assist us with any contractual claims. 12.
