Ted has established a track record of success in expanding strategic international markets for Canadian products and services. He drives a corporate culture of performance, diversity and acceptance. Ted was raised on a mixed farm including a beef cattle feedlot, a cow/calf ranch, and grain and forage crops. His family operated this integrated farm in the Picture Butte area of Southern Alberta for over 90 years. Mr. Haney received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1982 and his Master of Science in Agriculture Economics in 1991, both from the University of Alberta. Ted Haney was raised on a mixed farm including a beef cattle feedlot, a cow/calf ranch, and grain and forage crops. His family operated this integrated farm in the Picture Butte area of Southern Alberta for over 90 years. Ted managed the Canada Beef Export Federation (CBEF) for 20 years. This organization was established by the Canadian cattle and beef industry to expand export markets for its product in the global marketplace. As President, Ted was responsible for planning and implementing a multi-million-dollar international market development program delivered through six international offices located in Asia and Mexico. Ted also had primary responsibility for trade access negotiations with countries of interest to the industry. Ted currently processes, transports and trades meat products in domestic and international markets. He is facilitating the expanded use of rail transportation within the North American meat sector; improving competitiveness and reducing carbon emissions. Ted is connecting Canada's Farm-to-Fork quality and environmental advantages to international markets Ted's 30 years of work in Canada, Asia, Mexico, Russia and Europe, has developed his cultural sensitivity. Ted truly enjoys working and living in diverse cultural environments - with special focus on foods and social practices. Community involvement is high on Ted's priorities - as demonstrated by his many volunteer relationships. Ted and his wife Lori have lived in Calgary since 1992 and are the parents of three young adults. Industry attributed over 20% of international exports directly to association programs and services. Provided overall management for offices in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and Mexico. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Operation of a beef exporting company based on supply-chain and production protocol points of differentiation. Provide export market development advisory services to Canadian industry associations. Provide brand marketing advisory services to production and processing value-chains. Managed multi-million dollar market development program and trade advocacy services in Asia, Latin America, Russia and Europe. Increased annual sector exports (outside USA) from $24 million in 1991 to $459 million over 20 years with a peak of $535 million in 2010. This represents a sustained trade growth rate of 15% - higher than all international competitors. LEADERSHIP Elected to the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede’s Board of Directors.
