5. HOW TO PREVIEW AND PUBLISH A COURSE- ABSORBCREATE AUTHORING -
HOSTING/DELIVERY (STANDALONE) - NOT FOR ABSORB LMS USERS

In this lesson, you will learn how to test your course in preview modes.

We will also learn the different ways to publish your course to make it
available to your learners.

PREVIEWING THE COURSE

 

You have 2 modes where you can review your course :

 

1. Review :

Review your course with your course reviewer. Please refer to Content Reviewer -
Standalone ( Authoring Tool Or Create Delivery) article for more information 

 1. Click the Review button on the right side of the top toolbar.
 2. Navigate through your course, add comments and review comments from other
    reviewers.
    * Use the Mobile Preview function to test how the responsive layout will
      appear on different mobile devices.
 3. Click the Back to Editor button to return to edit mode.

 



 

2. Playback Mode:

 

The preview mode lets you visualize your course as your learners would see it. 

 1. Click the Playback Mode button on the right side of the top toolbar.
 2. Navigate through your course, making sure that your player settings are
    operating as intended.
    * Use the Mobile Preview function to test how the responsive layout will
      appear on different mobile devices.
 3. Click the Back to Editor button to return to edit mode.





 


 


 

 

 


PUBLISHING THE COURSE 

Once you have reviewed your course and are satisfied with your final outcome, it
is time to publish your course and start enrolling your learners. 

 

Publish options: 

 1. Download Content: Different Packages ( SCORM2004 & 1.2 , HTML5 , XAPI)
 2.  Publish to LMS: Scorm Wrapper 
 3. Share Course: Shareable link
 4. Publishing to AbsorbCreate Hosting/Delivery site 

 

 


PUBLISHING OPTIONS:

 

1. Download Content: 

 

If you want to export your content out of Absorb Create, choose the Download
Content tab to download a self-contained archive that you can host on your
website or in your LMS.

 

 1. Click the Publish button on the top right in editor mode 
 2. The Publishing wizard will open.
 3. Ensure all changes are published. Click Publish button on the bottom right
    side of the publishing wizard.
 4. Select a package type, by clicking on the dropdown next to the Publish
    button at the bottom right of the wizard : 

 *  * SCORM 2004: import the course in your LMS
    * SCORM 1.2: import the course in your LMS
    * xAPI: import the course in your LMS
    * HTML5: if you want to host the course on your website or keep a copy for
      compliance purposes 

5. Create the desired package.

6. After the publishing process completes, you can click the Download latest zip
package button to download the packaged course on your computer.

7. Upload the downloaded package to your LMS. 

 

Notes: This option is supported in both AbsorbCreate Authoring only and
AbsorbCreate Hosting/delivery 

Use this option to download your course to import to any other LMS.



 

2.  Publish to your external LMS 

This option will allow you to download a Scorm Wrapper which allows you to: 

 *  * Upload a tiny SCORM Package once to your LMS while keeping the content on
      your Absorb Create Cloud.
    * Easily update content by republishing your course. Learners get the
      updates automatically
    * Get deep-level analytics from your courses in Absorb Create Cloud while
      also tracking course results in your LMS.

 

 * Click the Publish button.
 * The Publishing wizard will open.
 * Ensure all changes are published. Click Publish button on the bottom right
   side of the publishing wizard. 
 * Click Download Scorm Wrapper. The wrapper will be downloaded to your
   computer 
 * You can use this download to import to any other LMS. 

Note: This feature is only available in our Hosting/delivery package of
AbsorbCreate

 



 

3. Share course: 

 This allows you to use a shared URL for your course. 

 * Click the Publish button on the top right in editor mode 
 * The Publishing wizard will open and automatically generate a course URL that
   you can share with your learners.
 * Ensure all changes are published. Click Publish button on the bottom right
   side of the publishing wizard. 
 * You can now use the created URL to share your course with anyone. 

Note: This feature is only available in our Hosting/delivery package of
AbsorbCreate

 

 




 

 

4. Publish to Hosting/Delivery instance of AbsorbCreate.

This is available when you purchase the Hosting/Delivery instance of
AbsorbCreate.

 * Click the Publish button on the top right in editor mode 
 * Your course is published to the Hosting/Delivery instance of AbsorbCreate.
 * Go to Enroll Learners, click on Go to Hosting and start enrolling your
   learners

 

Note: This feature is only available in our Hosting/delivery package of
AbsorbCreate
