TRAVEL TO INDONESIA

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still restrictions for foreign nationals
traveling to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. Foreign nationals who
are in possession of the following documents are allowed to enter Indonesia:

 1. Diplomatic and Official visa.
 2. Diplomatic and Official stay permit.
 3. Indonesia Temporary Residence Card (ITAS/KITAS) and Indonesia Permanent
    Residence Card (ITAP/KITAP).
 4. Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Travel Card.
 5. Electronic Visa (E-Visa) for a Visit Visa or Temporary Stay Visa from the
    Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta.
 6. All non-immigrant crew members or cabin crews arriving on any vessel or
    aircraft from any port or place outside Indonesia permit.

A. Visa

 1. Electronic Visa (E-Visa)

 1. Indonesian visa applications are made online through the Indonesian
    Immigration website at the following
    address https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/. All visa applications must be
    submitted by a sponsor/guarantor based in Indonesia. Tourist visa
    applications must be submitted by an Indonesian company travel agent or
    hotel. If approved, then the Indonesian Immigration will issue an E-Visa.
 2. The visa applications are for the following purposes:

 1. Tourism, emergency and essential work, business meeting, purchase of goods,
    medical-food-humanitarian aid worker and crew member who joins the vessel in
    Indonesia (B211A)
 2. The probationary period for foreign workers (B211B)
 3. Journalism / making a movie (B211C)
 4. Temporary stay:

 * Temporary work permit (C312)
 * Foreign investment (C313 – C314)
 * Study (C316)
 * Living with family (C317)
    

 1. Visit Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival (VOA)

 1. Countries, administrative regional governments, and certain entities subject
    to Visit Visa Exemption for Leisure Purpose, include:

 1. Brunei Darussalam,
 2. Philippines,
 3. Cambodia,
 4. Laos,
 5. Malaysia,
 6. Myanmar,
 7. Singapore,
 8. Thailand, and
 9. Vietnam.

 1. Countries, administrative regional governments, and certain entities subject

 1. Visit Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose are granted for
    foreign nationals at:

 1. Airports: (i) Soekarno Hatta, Banten; (ii) Ngurah Rai, Bali; (iii)
    Kualanamu, North Sumatra; (iv) Juanda, East Java; (v) Sultan Hasanuddin,
    South Sulawesi; (vi) Sam Ratulangi, North Sulawesi; and (vii) Yogyakarta,
    Special Region of Yogyakarta.
    
 2. Seaports: (i) Nongsa Terminal Bahari, Riau Islands; (ii) Batam Centre, Riau
    Islands; (iii) Sekupang, Riau Islands; (iv) Citra Tri Tunas, Riau Islands;
    (v) Marina Teluk Senimba, Riau Islands; (vi) Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi,
    Riau Islands; (vii) Bandar Seri Udana Lobam, Riau Islands; and (viii) Sri
    Bintan Pura, Riau Islands.
    
 3. Cross-Border Posts: (i) Aruk, West Kalimantan; (ii) Entikong, West
    Kalimantan; (iii) Mota’ain, East Nusa Tenggara; and (iv) Tunon Taka, North
    Kalimantan.

 1. Visit Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose can be issued
    accordingly with the following requirements:
    1. Passport (diplomatic/official/ordinary) that is valid for a minimum of 6
       (six) months from the arrival date,
    2. A return ticket or a pass to continue the trip to another country,
    3. Proof of payment of PNBP Visa on Arrival of 500,000 IDR (in the case of
       applying for a Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose),
        
 2. The entry stamp on the granting of a Visit Visa Exemption and Visa on
    Arrival for Leisure Purpose will be valid as a Visit Stay Permit for a
    certain period, as follows:
    1. Visit Visa Exemption: maximum of 30 days and cannot be extended.
    2. Visa on Arrival: maximum of 30 days and can be extended once for another
       30 days at a local Immigration Office in the area where the foreign
       national stays. It cannot be converted into another type of stay permit
        
 3. Diplomatic/Official Visa

Diplomatic and Official visas are submitted through the Indonesian Missions in
Australia (Embassy, Consulate-General and Consulate)

Note:

Visit Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival for Leisure Purpose can also be granted
for foreign nationals on official visits or government duties to attend
international events, for which shall be applied with an additional document:
personal invitation letter (name of the traveler must be on the letter) issued
by the Indonesian government to attend the international
conferences/trials/meetings.



B. COVID-19 Health Protocols in Indonesia

 1. Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 19 of 2022 Concerning
    Health Protocol for International Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic



 1. All foreign travelers (foreign nationals) who will enter the territory of
    the Republic of Indonesia shall adjust their travel documents to ensure
    compliance with the provisions regarding the foreign travelers allowed to
    enter the territory of Indonesia, which include International Covid-19
    vaccination certificates and the use of PeduliLindungi application.
    
 2. All foreign travelers are allowed to enter the territory of Indonesia
    through entry points via:



 1. Airports: (i) Soekarno Hatta, Banten; (ii) Juanda, East Java; (iii) Ngurah
    Rai, Bali; (iv) Hang Nadim, Riau Islands; (v) Raja Haji Fisabilillah, Riau
    Islands; (vi) Sam Ratulangi, North Sulawesi; (vii) Zainuddin Abdul Madjid,
    West Nusa Tenggara; (viii) Kualanamu, North Sumatera; (ix) Sultan
    Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi; and (x) Yogyakarta, Special Region of
    Yogyakarta.
 2. Seaports: (i) Tanjung Benoa, Bali; (ii) Batam, Riau Islands; (iii) Tanjung
    Pinang, Riau Islands; (iv) Bintan, Riau Islands; (v) Nunukan, North
    Kalimantan; (vi) Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands; and (vii) Dumai, Riau.
 3. Cross-Border Posts: (i) Aruk, West Kalimantan; (ii) Entikong, West
    Kalimantan; and (iii) Mota’ain, East Nusa Tenggara.

 1. Upon arrival at the entry points, foreign travellers must undergo a COVID-19
    symptom check, including a body temperature check, with the following
    conditions:
     
    1. If there is no symptom of COVID-19 and body temperature is below 37.5
       degrees Celsius: no need to undergo RT-PCR examination upon arrival.
    2. If there is any symptom of COVID-19 or body temperature above 37.5
       degrees Celsius: must undergo RT-PCR examination upon arrival.
       
       
 2. The provision regarding the PCR and period of isolation (quarantine) applies
    to all foreign travellers with the following categories:

 1. PCR and quarantine are no longer required for those who have received the
    complete dose of vaccine at least 14 days before the departure time.
 2. PCR (48 hours before departure) and a quarantine period of 5 x 24 hours are
    required for those who have not been vaccinated or received the complete
    dose of vaccine.
 3. Foreign travelers under the age of 18 (eighteen) years and/or require
    special protection shall follow the quarantine period provisions imposed on
    their parents or caregivers.
    
    For those who have recovered from COVID-19 within the last 30 days (maximum)
    before their scheduled flight, they are required to provide a COVID-19
    recovery certificate from a medical practitioner or public hospital. The
    certificate must clearly state that the person has had the coronavirus known
    as COVID‑19 but is now recovered with no symptoms and is not considered to
    be infectious.

                f. It is not mandatory for all foreign travelers (foreign
nationals) who will enter the territory of the Republic of Indonesia to show
proof of ownership of health insurance.
 

 2. Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 16 of 2022 Concerning
    Domestic Travel Provisions During the Covid-19 Pandemic

For all domestic travel with air, sea, and land transportation modes, using
private or public vehicles, crossings, and intercity trains from and to regions
throughout Indonesia, the following provisions apply:

 1. Domestic Travelers who have received the third dose of vaccine (booster) are
    not required to show the negative results from the RT-PCR or rapid antigen
    test.
 2. Domestic Travelers who are still receiving the second dose of vaccine are
    required to show a negative result of a rapid antigen test in which the
    sample is taken within 1 x 24 hours or RT-PCR taken within 3 x 24 hours
    before departure.
 3. Domestic Travelers who are still receiving the first dose of vaccine are
    required to show a negative RT-PCR result which sample is taken within 3 x
    24 hours before departure.
 4. Domestic Travelers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that
    prevent the person concerned from receiving vaccinations are required to
    show a negative RT-PCR result taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure,
    with the addition of a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital
    stating that the person concerned has not/unable to receive the COVID-19
    vaccination.
 5. Domestic Travelers under the age of 6 years old are excluded from the above
    conditions and allowed to travel with their parents or caregivers.

Note:

All international visitors from Australia who are exempted to receive vaccines
must present an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) exemption certificate and
a letter from a doctor explaining their medical conditions as to why they have a
medical contraindication to COVID-19 vaccines. The reason must be medical
order/medical condition such as comorbidity disease and/or have other diseases
that are too dangerous to take the vaccine.
