WHO WE ARE

Everyone who uses a vehicle on the road must keep it in a roadworthy condition.
The MOT test checks that vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards.

The Coventry based company was established in 1980 as Paragon Motors by Jeff
Donely and Geoff Wise, both Auto Transmission instructors at Jaguar Rover
Triumph, doing general service and MOT work, but specialising in auto
transmissions. A play on words to promote the speciality image resulted in
Paramatic Auto Transmissions (P.A.T.), although customers (who we still retain
to this day) refer to us as just Paragon.

Paragon Auto Testing relocated to their new premises in 2007 where we no longer
do auto transmissions and just concentrated on MOT testing.

At Paragon Auto Testing we believe in making sure the vehicle is roadworthy and
we have installed the very latest MAHA drive through automated test lane for all
class 4 cars and light commercial and class 1 & 2 motorcycles.

Took 'Maggie' the Mondeo in yesterday for her MOT. Rang in the morning and Ross
fitted me in the same day. Absolute consummate professional, and a thouroughly
decent chap to boot. Took the time to show me what needed doing and gave honest
advice on the best place to get it done. Very clean, well kept and tidy workshop
and will be going back there in the future. Would highly recommend anyone to go

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does an MOT take?
We normally say it takes about half an hour, so you are most welcome to wait and
watch or you can pop into the largest Tesco shopping arena in the UK which is
just across the road.
What tests are done as part of the MOT?
It is an in depth process to make sure your vehicle is road worthy and to find
out more click here.
What if my MOT has expired?
As long as you have pre-booked your MOT using our online booking system, you
will be able to drive to us to have your MOT done even if it has expired.
What if I have no insurance on the car?
If you do not have insurance on your car, please call us or send us a message
and we can arrange the pick-up and drop of your car for a nominal charge.
How about repairs that are needed for an MOT pass?
Whilst we do not employ a mechanic full time, we have all the ramps and
equipment to carry out any repairs, so for routine jobs like gaiters, brakes,
bearings etc, we can call in the right person for right job, at the right price
to you.
Do you not repair Auto Transmissions anymore?
No but feel free to ring or call in as having worked and taught the subject for
many years, we are perfectly placed to offer an unbiased opinion on a remedy for
the problem and point you in the right direction to get the best person to
repair it. When it is put right, we know you will use Paragon when the MOT is
due.
