Adam Peters, the Washington Commanders’ newly appointed general manager, was
only days into his tenure when he stood in his second-level office at the team’s
Ashburn, Va., headquarters and stared out onto the practice fields. It was late
January, and after one of the area’s most significant snowstorms in years, the
blanket of white that covered the fields finally started to recede and show the
facility’s true, um, colors.
