SUPERINTENDENT DR. CHAPMAN BECOMES STUDENT FOR A DAY

Students at Church Hill Middle School were happy to show the new kid on campus
the ropes when their very own Superintendent stepped into their shoes for a day,
taking the bus, eating in the cafeteria and taking a quiz or two.


DAVENPORT HIGH WOLF BAND, COLOR GUARD ADVANCES TO STATE MARCHING CONTEST, 2ND
CONSECUTIVE YEAR

The Davenport High School Wolf Band and Color Guard did it again - qualified for
the 4A UIL State Marching Band Contest, and this year it walked away with a new
title, the 2023 4A UIL Area 4 Champions.


SUPERINTENDENT STUDENTS OF THE 1ST NINE WEEKS ANNOUNCED

Honorees for Superintendent Student of the 1st Nine Weeks have been announced.
This award is given to one student per campus who serves as a role model and
demonstrates integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance.


TWENTY STUDENT ATHLETES SIGN NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

Four Comal ISD high school campuses celebrated National Signing Day with 20
student athletes signing National Letters of Intent to play the sport of their
choice at the collegiate level. This marked the first signing day event for
Pieper High School.


DAVENPORT WOLF BAND PLACES 6TH IN STATE, PERCUSSION RANKS 1ST

The 157-member Davenport Wolf marching band finished its season as the sixth
best band in the state in only its fourth year in existence. In addition, its
percussion ranked first overall.


COMAL ISD OFFERS TWO STUDENT FLU VACCINE CLINICS, NOV. 10

Comal ISD is offering two student flu vaccine clinics on Friday, Nov. 10, at two
campuses: 9-11 a.m. at Canyon High School and noon-2 p.m. at Kinder Ranch
Elementary School.


TWO COMAL ISD TEACHERS SURPRISED WITH GRANTS FROM VALERO ALAMO BOWL

Two teachers received extra treats this Halloween when they were each surprised
with a $500 grant and game tickets from the Valero Alamo Bowl and PNC Bank as
part of the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers
program.


PIEPER, SMITHSON VALLEY HIGH MARCHING BANDS ADVANCE TO UIL STATE 5A CONTEST

Comal ISD will be well represented at the State 5A UIL Marching Band contest on
Monday, Nov. 6, when two high schools will perform for the state title.


STUDENT WORK SHOWCASED IN FALL ART SHOW

The district's Fall Art Show featured student artwork from 12 campuses. The
pieces which are on display at the Support Services building showcase the talent
of students from kindergarten through 12th grade.


CANYON LAKE HIGH STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR BOYS STATE, GIRLS STATE

Six students from Canyon Lake High School participated in Texas Boys State and
Girls State programs this summer. They were recognized by the Board of Trustees
on Oct. 26.
