We conduct experimental and theoretical research with collider experiments. We are engaged in dark-matter searches, fundamental physics with neutrons, nuclear structure and nuclear reactions at the limits of nuclear stability, as well as studying man-made radioactivity in the environment. Until his last days, he continued to work with passion, courage, and endurance. His legacy will endure through the impact he has made in science and technology. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him as a colleague, gifted and creative scientist, as well as a friend. We deeply mourn the loss of Mats Lindroos and will remember him fondly.
