Louis Vuitton joins forces with People For Wildlife on a 5-year global
conservation partnership aiming to maintain and improve biodiversity

Paris, Tuesday 31st January 2023 - As part of Louis Vuitton’s longstanding
commitment to preserve natural resources and act on climate change, the Maison
joins forces with the conservation charity People For Wildlife.

On the Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, in Australia, a sizeable area of
tropical forests, woodlands, freshwater ecosystems, and coastlines is home to
diverse habitats, and some of the richest biodiversity in the world. Louis
Vuitton will support People For Wildlife’s scientific research and sustainable
land-management initiatives with local communities, to help better understand
and reverse biodiversity decline, and act on climate change.

Louis Vuitton has worked closely for years with People For Wildlife’s founder,
Dr. Daniel Natusch, a conservation science expert. Having a long involvement
with conservation research in Cape York, Dr. Natusch created People For Wildlife
in 2020. Seeking to scale-up efforts to preserve the environment and regenerate
biodiversity, the partnership with People for Wildlife was a natural choice for
Louis Vuitton given their many shared environmental values. Moreover, the
partnership offers the opportunity to better understand the sustainable use of
nature-based materials, which are the essence of luxury-goods-making.

Working with local communities, this 5-year environmental partnership will help
to maintain and improve biodiversity in a 400,000-hectare area on the Cape York
Peninsula by supporting scientific field research, monitoring wildlife species,
and co-creating sustainable business models based on responsible use of
nature-based materials.

This contributes to the LVMH target of restoring 5 million hectares of flora and
fauna habitat by 2030, as well as the UN Biodiversity Conference Agreement
(COP-15) to protect 30% of the planet’s land by the same year.

Louis Vuitton is putting sustainability at the front and centre of its business
vision: luxury depends on raw materials, and the environment is a cornerstone of
business sustainability. “Our Committed Journey” is Louis Vuitton’s sustainable
development roadmap, in line with the LIFE360 (LVMH Initiatives For the
Environment) programme. Through six pillars, it aims to preserve natural
resources (responsible sourcing, fight against climate change, circular approach
of creativity) and to have a positive impact on society (diversity and
inclusion, support to local communities, development of savoir-faire). Find all
