WELCOME TO CUSTOM HOUSE RISK ADVISORS

Custom House Risk Advisors (CHRA) takes an experienced and customized approach
to helping you understand and manage your individualized risks, while working
toward mitigating your potential costs.

As your outsourced risk management and insurance advisory team, we provide
expert advice and assistance guided by our integrity. Our clients benefit from
the control and security surrounding the protection, procedures, and insurance
in place for their operation.

PHILOSOPHY

CHRA is led by a team of dedicated professionals who collectively have over 130
years of industry experience. We specialize in numerous aspects of the real
estate industry. Our clients are owners, developers, contractors, and operators
of a wide array of asset classes across the nuanced real estate sector. While
our focus is the real estate and development industry, we have expertise in
other arenas including non-profit and financial institutions. We focus on the
appropriate transfer of liability, using techniques specific to the particular
composition of each client’s portfolio.

PROPER RISK TRANSFER OCCURS THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR TRIFECTA APPROACH:

SOPHISTICATED PROCUREMENT & INSURANCE NEGOTIATION

BEST IN CLASS RISK MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

CONTRACT CERTAINTY & PROFICIENCY

This approach can yield cost savings through customized and strategic insurance
placement, as well as alternative risk transfer solutions. Unknown to many,
insurance products are highly negotiable from a cost, coverage, and compliance
standpoint. With both national and international expertise, CHRA aggregates the
exposures, premiums, and industry relationships for the benefit of our clients.

We offer independent risk management and insurance advisory services, free of
conflict from other areas within the insurance procurement world. Our
compensation is neither a function nor a derivative of an insurance premium or
sale, therefore any potential conflict of interest is removed.

CHRA takes pride in our reputation for a high level of expertise, attention to
detail, collaborative nature, and transparency. We help our clients navigate the
complexities of the insurance and risk management world while eliminating the
burden of becoming an insurance expert. Insurance and risk management is our

SAMANTHA OLIVEIRA

Senior Risk Management Consultant

Samantha Oliveira, Esq., Senior Risk Management Consultant, comes to Custom
House as an attorney who has focused her career on insurance coverage and risk
management. In her previous litigation practice, Samantha advocated on behalf of
policyholders on issues involving all lines of coverage. Most notably, she
co-authored an appellate brief that ultimately led to a critical policyholder’s
favorable decision, which was a victory for construction industry policyholders

caused by defective work be considered an “occurrence” under the law.

Samantha is an asset to the Custom House team; she focuses on providing clients
with the most current and practical perspective on the risk management issues
they encounter.  She also has extensive experience in developing and rewriting
insurance procurement language to meet the changing demands of the insurance and
construction industries and to help clients procure airtight contractual risk
transfer provisions in their policies.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut, and her
J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She is admitted to
practice in Connecticut, New York, the U.S. District Court, the District of
Connecticut, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.
