The Native Title rights and interests of the Ankamuthi people were recognised in Ankamuthi People in July 2017. The determination includes an area of land and water around Ducie River in the Cape York Peninsula. The Bauxite Hills Mine Project is a bauxite mining project on Ankamuthi traditional country situated on, and to the south of the Skardon River. The Ankamuthi Trusts receive money from Metro Mining three (3) times per year. These funds can be used to make distributions to beneficiaries.
