Regular training for employees is necessary for companies in order to comply
with legal requirements on the one hand and to meet the requirements of
constantly changing conditions on the other hand. The example of VERIABLE online
courses and certifications shows how this can work cost-effectively.

With VERIABLE it is possible to digitally verify training and certification
processes. This leads to significant time savings for the company and added
value for employees. With the self-paced online courses, not only employees can
acquire knowledge when and where they want. Rather, the company can prove the

MANDATORY TRAINING

Depending on the industry, certain training measures are mandatory due to legal
rules, regulations, standards, or the employment contract. Since March 28, 2024,
the mandatory training measures that are required for the professional activity
are also included in working hours according to the Employment Contract Law
Adjustment Act and the training costs must be borne by the employer, unless the
costs are borne by a third party (see § 11b AVRAG).

Employees may be obliged to complete further training measures, for example for
health professions, professional drivers or civil engineers. However, insurance
agents, for example, also need further training in order to be able to continue
to carry out their professional activities properly. Other mandatory trainings
are:

 * Food hygiene (see guidelines for staff training)

 * Occupational safety (see AUVA leaflet M 070 “Instruction”)

 * Fire protection (see § 45 AStV)

 * Compliance and internal control system (e.g. according to § 22 and § 25
   GmbHG)

 * Cyber security (see NIS-2 directive)

 * Data protection and IT security (see data protection law in Austria)

Please note that this is only an exemplary list to clearly illustrate the need
for comprehensible online training.

E-learning formats are ideal for regularly and efficiently carrying out
mandatory training in the company. Employees can learn individually and flexibly
in terms of time. The company can easily document the mandatory training
measures with the confirmations of participation and certifications.
