“Fiery” gemstones are those that can split up white light into colourful
sparkles. Many gemstones, including diamonds, have fire. Moissanite’s unique
feature is the amount of fire it emits. This characteristic is well-known.
Before we begin, let’s define what the term “sparkle” means. White light that
enters a gemstone is split up as it bounces around inside the stone. It leaves
as a colourful flash as it exits through the top of the stone. This produces a
stunning, bright phenomenon known as fire.
