 * JESSAMINE COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS SAY:

Whether you are East or West, Keeping storm drains clean is always best!
In cities, rain and snow fall on streets, sidewalks and parking lots where it
can't be absorbed. Storm drains along streets and in parking areas give the
runoff a place to flow, which helps prevent flooding. But the water picks up
contaminates from trash, motor oil and other debris and carries it into our
local streams. That's why it's important to properly dispose of yard waste,
trash, oil and grease and why storm drains are just for rain. For more
   information, Click here.

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

As mayor, I have the privilege of being involved in community developments from
the time they are just a seed of an idea all the way to the finish line. This
has been such an exciting and positive year that it is hard to capture it in
words.
Our downtown is really starting to bustle again. New businesses have opened on
Main Street and existing ones are seeing increased activity. Events such as the
upcoming St. Nich Christmas Fest on Saturday, Dec. 12, and art walks are drawing
large crowds. It is a result of a better streetscape, creative thinking and a
strong entrepreneurial spirit.
I'm really excited about the approved use of state funding to create a
performance park...Read More
