MISSION:


TO PROMOTE A SOCIETY WHERE THOSE WHO FACE INCARCERATION CAN BE HEARD, VALUED,
AND UNDERSTOOD.

SOCIETY HAS OFTEN TOLD US THAT THESE INDIVIDUALS MATTERED AS CHILDREN, BUT WE
ARE HERE TO SAY THAT THESE INDIVIDUALS STILL MATTER TODAY EVEN AS ADULTS.
INCARCERATION DOES NOT DENOTE AN INDIVIDUAL’S SELF-WORTH.

AWARENESS

Bringing awareness to the discussions of criminal justice reform and healing, to
promote opportunities for society to reframe how we think about those involved
in the criminal justice system. We are encouraging society to see the person as
more than just the crime that they have committed.


EXPLORATION

Allowing space to learn from those who have lived through some of the most
traumatic experiences in order to identify alternative methods for reform.


IMPLEMENTATION

Applying what has been learned in order to effectively promote a more just and
cohesive society. Implementing trauma-informed approaches to help support the
person as a whole.

RECOGNIZING THAT PEOPLE’S INNATE WORTH AS HUMAN BEINGS DOES NOT CEASE JUST
BECAUSE THEY ARE BEHIND BARS. REHABILITATION IS POSSIBLE AND IT STARTS WITH
UNDERSTANDING THAT THE POPULATION SERVED REPRESENTS SOME OF THE MOST VULNERABLE
AND TRAUMATIZED INDIVIDUALS WITHIN OUR SOCIETY TODAY.
