OUR MANDATE
The Medical and Dental Council is the statutory agency under the Ministry of
Health established under Part II of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies
Act, 2013 (Act 857) responsible for the regulation of the training and practice
of medicine and dentistry in Ghana.
OBJECT
The object of Council as provided for under section 27 of Act 857 is to secure
in the public interest the highest standards in the training and practice of
medicine and dentistry in Ghana.
PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION
Registration for newly qualified Medical and Dental Doctors, and Physician
Assistants is open. The deadline for submitting the Provisional Registration
Form is Friday, 16/08/2024.

SUNYANI ZONAL OFFICE

REVALIDATION OF RECORDS
The Medical and Dental Council has recorded a worrying number of incidents of
attempted impersonation and unscrupulous renewal of licences for deceased
practitioners. As part of measures to curb this development and ensure that only
duly registered practitioners are practising and have access to the
practitioner’s portal, the Council will embark on a revalidation exercise to
update practitioners’ records with the Council. Read more

The MDC together with The World Continuing Education Alliance is providing all
practitioners with a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) online platform
and Mobile Application.
The App now contains Free COVID 19 resources from the NHS and Health Education
England and a wealth of other Free CPD resources from internationally respected
educators will soon be added.
