VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

ArtzyBella in partnership with MARTA Artbound is welcoming Fall with Safe/Lee
Bike Lanes, an immersive community art activation that will celebrate the West
End Community. A wide range of volunteer groups across corporate teams, art
students, and Atlanta residents will help paint designs by two local artists.

We invite you and your team to help Artbound improve the safety of the streets
in the West End community using public art at Safe/Lee Bike Lanes.

We need volunteers each day for six days to paint art on 150 cement barricades
that will form a bike lane on Lee St along the West End MARTA station.

We’ll have music, refreshments, swag bags, and great vibes!  


We will be onsite from 9am – 6pm each day. Choose from the times we have
available. If these times don’t work for you, please reach out with your
preferred time block.

How does it work?

We commissioned two local professional visual artists to develop a unique design
that celebrated mental health, wellness, happiness, and the spirit of the
historic West End community.  

We asked them to create a design that would be simple enough for people who may
not have much experience painting to easily participate in completing.

Art students will facilitate all volunteers as they  apply paint to the the
artwork that will have already been drawn out on the barricades.The Facilitators
will offer guidance and tips as the volunteers paint. The artists will come
towards the end of the day to clean and polish up what volunteers did.

When you and your team arrive you will be assigned one or several barricades
based on the size of your team. Once you get to the barricades you will be
painting, you’ll get to enjoy music, curated playlists by Atlantas favorite
Dj’s, food, beverages, and free swag to take home. 

What are the volunteer options?

Professionals: An opportunity for your organization to collaborate to paint for
a good cause. 

Educators: We invite faculty and staff  to participate in this event as a
team-building activity.

Art Students: Volunteer in groups or assist other volunteer groups using your
creative experience. 

Startup Founder: Help with logistics to learn customer acquisition through
social impact initatives. 

How many people can I sign up?

We need 150 people each day! So the more the merrier. 

What should we wear?

Wear your organizations branded shirt if you have one you don’t mind getting
dirty! If you do not have one, you can hire our preferred vendor for creating
custom tshirt designs with printing, Phli Artistry Clothing Co. Alternatively,
you can just dress comfortably in something you can bend, squat in and you don’t
mind getting dirty.

Meet the Artist/Designer: Charity Hamidullah



Charity Hamidullah is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been living and
creating in Atlanta, Georgia since 2011. Her work began as a tattoo artist where
she assisted in helping client’s honor their identity through body adornment.
Her admiration for her community soon transformed her canvas with hopes to
inspire and uplift more individuals. Hamidullah utilizes color, figurative and
environmental elements to illustrate stories of identity , empowerment and
growth while uniting spaces with the love language of art.

Meet the Artist: Leah Abucayan


Leah Abucayan is a Filipino-American artist based out of Atlanta, GA. Leah
studied Graphic Design at the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. Her
art journey really began to take shape when she was 11 and had started her own
little business crafting purses, bags, and wallets out of duct tape. Leah’s art
has taken many forms from doing murals, to chalk art, to brand design, to duct
tape portraits, to illustration, and sometimes even home renovations. Her
mission is to make a positive impact on the world and inspire others with her
art and passion for design.
