Manchester United have had a rather turbulent week following news of Tyrell
Malacia's arrival.

Cristiano Ronaldo has told the club that he wishes to leave just a year into his
two-year-deal. He is trying to force an exit after seeing his salary reduced,
United's slow transfer activity and their inability to challenge for silverware.

It also seems that their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong has hit the buffers.
Barcelona have declared that he is now no longer for sale despite agreeing a
deal in principle.

And now recent reports state there are problems with the Spanish giants owing
the player money after agreeing to defer his wages amid the pandemic.

However, United have reportedly revived their interest in Leicester midfielder
Youri Tielemans, while a deal still looks to be on for Christian Eriksen.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo is still the name on everyone's lips

TODAY'S BIG TALKING POINT: What do you make of Ronaldo's future? Have your say
here.

Take a look at our Man United transfer news below.

FOUR THINGS SPOTTED IN TRAINING SESSION

United players are ready for some last-minute packing before jetting off on
their pre-season tour.

Having been put through their paces in a double session at the Carrington
training ground, next stop for Cristiano Ronaldo-less United is Thailand before
added visits to Australia and Norway as part of their pre-season preparations.

UNITED READY TO MOVE FOR BROBBEY - REPORTS

United are ready to hijack a move from Ajax to re-sign striker Brian Brobbey.

That's according to developing reports from German publication BILD.

Brobbey departed Ajax for RB Leipzig in 2021 - but was unable to settle in
Germany.

Erik ten Hag welcomed him back to Amsterdam on loan last season and, as per the
same claim, the United manager is keen to enter the race to bring Brobbey, 20,
to Old Trafford in a swoop that could set them back around £12.6m.

UNITED CONFIRM MALACIA AND FERNANDES NUMBERS

United have confirmed that summer signing Tyrell Malacia will wear the number 12
shirt next campaign - while Bruno Fernandes will switch from 18 to 8.

Malacia arrived at Old Trafford in an initial €15million switch from Eredivisie
side Feyenoord and, as things stand, he remains the only addition made so far
this summer. Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed to sign, but other targets
continue to drag their heels over joining them as part of the rebuild.

TARGETS AGREE UNITED PERSONAL TERMS - REPORTS

Reports suggest United have agreed personal terms with two targets.

Tyrell Malacia put pen to paper on his move from Feyenoord earlier in the week.

But will he be followed by Lisandro Martinez and Antony?

Reports from Daily Record suggest the two Ajax players have sorted out their
individual agreements and United must now settle on a fee with the Amsterdam
giants to get that double swoop across the line.

MESSI SENT TRANSFER MESSAGE AMID RONALDO SAGA

United are doing all they can to keep Cristiano Ronaldo, while long-time rival
Lionel Messi has been told none of the top six Premier League sides would want
to sign him if he became available.

Twelve months after re-signing for United in a sensational transfer, Ronaldo
wants to leave Old Trafford, but the club have doubled down on their stance that
the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is not for sale amid suggestions Chelsea want
to swoop for his coveted signature.

ETH ISSUED STRONG UNITED TRANSFER WARNING

United have been offered up a damning take on their pulling power.

As things stand, they have only managed to sign one player this summer.

Here is what Gabby Agbonlahor said on radio station talkSPORT;

> If I had a choice to go to Manchester City or Liverpool before Manchester
> United, that is a no-brainer. That's what Manchester United have come to. It's
> embarrassing for Manchester United fans and everyone associated with them that
> they have become that club now.

CHELSEA TO SWOOP FOR DE JONG SIGNING

Chelsea are preparing to hijack United's attempts to sign Frenkie de Jong.

That's according to staggering reports from Spanish journalist Gerard Romero.

De Jong remains the top target for Erik ten Hag this summer.

However, after confirming an agreement in principle, that move has stalled and
it has been claimed that Chelsea are ready to swoop in and pursue the Barcelona
playmaker. This has been followed up by several other publications.

BRENTFORD STILL HOPEFUL OF RE-SIGNING ERIKSEN AMID DIALOGUE DESPITE UNITED
AGREEMENT

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has declared that the Bees are very much still
hoping to bring Christian Eriksen back for a second season, with the manager
still in dialogue with the playmaker.

Eriksen ended the season with four assists and a goal against Chelsea ahead of
his deal with Brentford expiring.

His form piqued the interests of a number of top six clubs, including Manchester
United. Erik ten Hag tabled an offer for the former Ajax man last month, before
the player verbally agreed to a deal earlier this week.

MANCHESTER UNITED REITERATE CRISTIANO RONALDO STANCE AFTER TRANSFER WISH

Manchester United have reiterated that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale this
summer, despite fresh reports suggesting a number of clubs are considering a
move for him.

The Manchester Evening News revealed earlier this week that United's inactivity
in the transfer market and a salary reduction are among the issues that have
convinced Ronaldo to try and seek a move away from the club.

However, senior United sources have firmly denied any suggestion they could sell
Ronaldo this summer, reiterating that 'there is absolutely no change' in their
position on the matter, despite reports from elsewhere earlier today.

OPINION - WHY MANCHESTER UNITED MIGHT HAVE TO SELL CRISTIANO RONALDO TO CHELSEA

Manchester United's stance remains that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale this
summer, but the club may have to relax that if the forward is so adamant that he
wants to leave.

The club's failure to qualify for the Champions League is just one of the
reasons that the Portuguese striker wants to leave as he feels that, even with
the appointment of Erik ten Hag, the club are not matching his ambition.

The issue is that despite Ronaldo's reputation, there are only a limited number
of clubs that can afford to sign him and an even smaller number that actually
want to.

MANCHESTER UNITED AGREE TO SELL DYLAN LEVITT ON PERMANENT TRANSFER

Manchester United have agreed to sell Dylan Levitt to Dundee United, with talks
now at an advanced stage over his departure.

The Manchester Evening News understands the Welsh midfielder had plenty of
interest from EFL clubs this summer, including the possibility of a move to
Derby before Wayne Rooney quit as manager last month. Cardiff were also linked
with a move.

However, Levitt is now set to re-join Dundee United following an excellent loan
spell with the Scottish Premiership side last season, where he established
himself as one of their most important players.

CRISTIANO RONALDO ABSENT FROM MANCHESTER UNITED TRAINING AS ERIK TEN HAG ORDERS
DOUBLE SESSION

Cristiano Ronaldo was absent from Manchester United training again on Thursday
ahead of the club's pre-season tour departure at the end of the week.

Ronaldo, 37, is the only senior international not to report back for pre-season
at United's Carrington training complex this week, with the Portuguese ace
missing due to "family reasons". The club said they accepted his explanation.

The forward's absence comes days after it was revealed he is seeking a move away
from the club after a terrible trophyless campaign that saw them demoted to the
Europa League for next season.

"If he has love for United he should not be moaning, a true legend will give his

MANCHESTER UNITED 'WILL ALLOW' CRISTIANO RONALDO TO LEAVE

Manchester United have reportedly made a U-turn on their stance on letting
Cristiano Ronaldo leave this summer.

The club has previously stated that the superstar is not for sale, but 90min
reports that they are now 'open' to offers for him.

The source says Erik ten Hag and United officials were shocked when Ronaldo told
them of his plans to leave. It adds that United are expecting a bid from Chelsea
very soon, with the striker - and his gianatic wage demands - potentially going
for as little as £15m.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are said to hold an interest. Ronaldo has been
unsettled by a reduction in wages, United's slow transfer activity and the
club's unlikely chances of earning silverware next season.

BAYERN MUNICH CONFIRM TRANSFER STANCE ON CRISTIANO RONALDO AMID MANCHESTER
UNITED EXIT TALK

Bayern Munich have distanced themselves from the prospect of signing Manchester
United striker Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting he doesn't suit their philosophy.

Ronaldo, who sealed a fairytale return to Old Trafford from Juventus almost a
year ago, wants to leave United this summer in pursuit of Champions League
football.

The Manchester Evening News also understands that the Portuguese star wants to
leave because of the club's slow start to the summer transfer window and is
"upset" that the squad has been forced to accept a 25 per cent reduction in
their salaries.
