OUR HISTORY

The Rowland Brothers Foundation was set up in 1984, and registered as a charity
in 2017, by Tony Rowland, MBE. at a time when professional bereavement
counselling was not yet widely available. Tony had the vision to to provide a
free service that offers both practical and emotional support to those who have
suffered the loss of a loved one. Serving our clients with professionalism and
sensitivity, we are very proud to be giving a much needed and important service
to our community.

TESTIMONIALS

> “Bereavement Aftercare is a sensitive subject and the session was perfectly
> pitched being informative, compassionate and thoroughly engaging.”

> “The session was very insightful into the different stages of grief and how
> these are very personal to every individual who loses someone. It was also a
> good reminder for the group to recognise that grief does not only come about
> after the death of a person.”

> “They are so easy to talk to. We don’t just talk about my loss, but also about
> other aspects of my life. They do fantastic work within the community. I don’t
> know where I’d be now if I didn’t have this weekly telephone support.”

COVID-19 Notice

At Rowland Brothers, we recognise that amid this pandemic, we all have fears and
concerns for the safety of our families and loved ones. Unfortunately, death and
grief do not pause during a crisis. For over 145 years, Rowland Brothers has
been taking care of members of this community and we stand ready to help you
now. We will remain open and our experienced, caring staff will continue
assisting families during this critical time.

We are taking precautions to create a safe environment for you to honour those
you have lost. The following best practices have been instituted:

 1. Masks shall be always worn during funeral arrangements, in our vehicles by
     all staff and mourners.
 2. Our staff take regular lateral flow tests, and we ask that all mourners
take a lateral flow test one day prior to the funeral, if you prove
positive then you must not attend the funeral.
 3. Hand soap and sanitiser will be available for all visitors to the funeral
     home to use.
 4. Our staff will practice extreme care in disinfecting all public areas and
maintaining proper sanitation of our chapels, equipment and facilities.
 5. We can arrange funerals via telephone, zoom or teams.
 6. Funerals, visitation and other gatherings held in our Chapels will have the
number of attendees limited in accordance to current Government guidelines.
 7. Recommended social distancing practices will be encouraged for all visitors
     to our premises.
 8. Livestreaming of funeral services will be available to families at the
crematoriums. There maybe an additional for this service.
 9. We are available 24/7 to answer any questions and concerns you may have and
will continue to monitor Government, NHS and WHO.
 10. Guidance is also considered from the National Association of Funeral
     Directors Association.

Most of all, remember that during times of uncertainty it is important to rely
upon one another and to come together as a community.

Rowland Brothers is honoured to be a part of the Croydon community and we will
do all we can to be here for you throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sincerely,

Tony & Steve Rowland
