HI, I'M MELISSA.


LIVING WITH AUTOIMMUNE ISSUES, CHRONIC ILLNESS, OR PAIN IS CHALLENGING, TO SAY
THE LEAST. THROUGH MY OWN AUTOIMMUNITY JOURNEY, YOGA AND MEDITATION HAVE HELPED
ME LEARN HOW TO TRUST MYSELF AS I BECAME MORE EMBODIED.


BY LISTENING AND RESPONDING TO MY EVER-CHANGING BODY WITH COMPASSION (AND
HUMOR), I BEGAN TO CHANGE MY MINDSET AND SPIRIT, AND THROUGH THAT, CHANGE MY
LIFE.


IT'S MY GOAL TO BRING YOU CLASSES AND COURSES THAT ENCOURAGE CURIOSITY, HEALING,
AND COMPASSION.


I'M A CERTIFIED 200-HOUR YOGA TEACHER FROM BRETT LARKIN'S UPLIFTED PROGRAM AND
PRACTICED YOGA, MEDITATION, AND MINDFULNESS FOR YEARS.


MY YOGA PRACTICE TREMENDOUSLY CHANGED WHEN I BEGAN EXPERIENCING AUTOIMMUNE
SYMPTOMS. I WENT FROM MY DOCTOR INSTRUCTING ME NOT TO EXERCISE AT ALL (DUE TO
INFLAMMATION) TO SLOWLY REGAINING MY STRENGTH. SOON I'LL FINISH MY 500-HOUR YOGA
TEACHER TRAINING, ALSO FROM BRETT LARKIN'S UPLIFTED PROGRAM.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I practice yoga if I'm in a flare?



Great question. I encourage you to ask your doctor if you are able to practice
restorative yoga, such as Yin Yoga or Yoga Nidra.

I don't have props or yoga blocks. Can I still practice?



Yes! You can use sturdy books and/or pillows to help you ease into a stretch.
Blankets, pillows (and more pillows), and an eye mask are some of favorite props
to use when practicing Yoga Nidra.
