“You must be our new neighbors!” Mrs Lowell gushes and waves across the picket
fence. I clutch my daughter’s hand and smile back: but the second Mrs Lowell
sees my husband a strange expression crosses her face. In that moment I make a
promise. We finally have a family home. My past is far, far behind us. And I’ll
do anything to keep it that way…

I used to clean other people’s houses—now, I can’t believe this home is actually
mine. The charming kitchen, the quiet cul-de-sac, the huge yard where my kids
can play. My husband and I saved for years to give our children the life they
deserve.

Even though I’m wary of our new neighbor Mrs Lowell, when she invites us over
for dinner it’s our chance to make friends. Her maid opens the door wearing a
white apron, her hair in a tight bun. I know exactly what it’s like to be in her
shoes. But her cold stare gives me chills…

The Lowells’ maid isn’t the only strange thing on our street. I’m sure I see a
shadowy figure watching us. My husband leaves the house late at night. And when
I meet a woman who lives across the way, her words chill me to the bone: Be
careful of your neighbors .

Did I make a terrible mistake moving my family here?

I thought I’d left my darkest secrets behind. But could this quiet suburban
street be the most dangerous place of all?

--Oh my goodness! Quick confession: I didn’t expect to love the third book so
much, but it exceeded all my expectations! It's far better than the second book;
I couldn’t put it down. I even canceled my appointment with my accountant, even
though I have taxes to do. Who cares about taxes when there's such an amazing
book to read? Okay, it's wrong to say something like that as a law-abiding,
mature citizen, but come on, this book is incredibly good. I found myself
wanting to stop time just to peacefully read my advance copy!

What can I say to rest my case! The adventures of Millie the maid are the
definition of addiction! I know I can find hundreds of people like me (maybe
thousands) who, once they start one of her books, they cannot stop! It’s more
addictive than Pringles! It’s riveting page-turners! It’s my favorite guilty
pleasure!

Her new adventure takes us 11 years later where we left things with Millie and
Enzo. Now they’re older, married, having two kids; one A grader, sensitive,
mature, smart daughter Ava, and a friendly, energetic, sporty 9-year-old Nico,
named after Enzo’s family members. Their luck turned out, and their offer for
the house has gotten approval which means they are about to be suburbanites,
living in ( correction living "ON") Long Island.

Millie is jumping in excitement to build a new life in a big house she still has
questions about how they bought under its value even though they have to work
harder to pay the mortgage. She is also excited to make new friends with her
neighbors but unfortunately one of her neighbors cannot keep her hands off her
husband, shamelessly flirting with him as the other woman who is health-obsessed
and also a noisy busybody who likes to watch each step she takes from her house
and make her uncomfortable. In addition to that, Enzo makes a jest to hire their
neighbor’s maid Martha: the same woman she keeps giving her scrutinizing looks
as if she knows her criminal dark past.

Could Millie make the worst mistake by moving to this neighborhood where her
neighbors act like she’s mud under their boot to scratch, her children keep
acting like strangers and her husband might be too friendly with Suzette Lowell:
their flirty neighbor next door? At the top of that somebody gets murdered as
expected. Because where Millie goes, there should be murder, shouldn’t be? How
will she save herself and her family without getting involved? What her family
members keep hidden from her?

Well: didn’t I say how much I loved this book that I should scream at the
rooftops kind of! I'm about to give this book ten stars which highly deserved!
Don’t forget to add this book to your reading list. Who am I kidding? Just order
your copy and dive in blindfolded! Satisfaction guaranteed!

Oh boy, I hope Freida McFadden keeps writing more Millie the Maid sequels to
feed my cravings! I never get enough of this series!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for sharing the digital reviewer
copy of the most anticipated thriller of the year in exchange for my honest
opinions which I truly appreciate!

*CRACK* That is the sound of Freida McFadden knocking it out of the
ballpark!!!!! The Housemaid Is Watching is an addictive, riveting, tense, and
thrilling page tuner in the Housemaid series! I had a hard time putting this
book down as I was completely dazzled by the story! I loved the drama, the
mystery, the doubt, the secrets, and the lies! Plus, there is the warning "Be
careful of your neighbors" . Nothing feels more welcoming than being told to be
on your guard!

Fans of the series are going to love this book! I also highly recommend reading
the first books in this series (The Housemaid and The Housemaid's Secret. That
way you have all the background on the characters. Having said that, I do feel
that this book would work as a stand-alone but again, read the first two books.
They are fantastic!

Millie, Enzo, and their children Ava and Nico have moved into a home in a nice
community. This is HUGE for Millie as she used to clean people's homes for a
living. Now she has her own home. With it comes neighbors. There is one odd one
who watches all her neighbors from her living room. Then there is Suzette and
Jonathan Lowell. They have a beautiful home and you guessed it, a maid who is
giving Millie strange looks. Enzo is also getting some looks from Suzette who
can't keep her eyes off her handsome and buff new neighbor. Millie is not very
happy about the attention Suzette is giving Enzo, but Suzette promises to help
Enzo get new customers.

Oh boy! This book kept me on my toes and turning the pages. Just when I thought
I had this book figured out, Freida McFadden threw in some twist and had me
rethinking my theory. I had so much fun with this book. I was lucky enough to
have both the book and audiobook versions of this book which made for an
incredible reading experience. If you enjoyed audiobooks, the narrators of this
book were fabulous.

Freida McFadden is a brilliant author who has a knack of placing me right in the
heart of the book. I felt as if I were a silent observer in all the scenes. The
characters were fantastic. There were likeable ones, some questionable ones, and
ones I loved to hate. This book was such a fun and dramatic read!

A brilliant addition to the Housemaid series!

What a fun series!! The Housemaid is watching is the 3rd book in the series and
I would definitely read one and two before enjoying this one.
"My past is far, far behind us. And I'll do anything to keep it that way." As
Millie continues her story in Long Island, her and her husband Enzo have bought
a beautiful home in a charming cul-de-sac away from their small apartment. They
now have room for their two kids to play and enjoy separate bedrooms. Once they
are there, Millie thinks they have made a terrible mistake. Her nosy neighbors
are always watching. One neighbor suggests to Millie "Be careful of your
neighbors."
Suzette and Jonathan Lowell live across the street and it appears Suzette has
her eyes on Enzo, who is extremely handsome and Millie is used to other women
staring at him, but Suzette takes it to another level.
There are several story-lines going on that are addictive, page turning and
riveting. The twists appear rapidly at the end and some surprises along the way.
I was unsure of one of the decisions the author made at the end that didn't give
reasoning, but she is so talented I decided I missed something. It doesn't take
away from the mystery unfolding and is well worth the fun experiences that
Millie is still innocently elusive of everything she does that will make you
laugh aloud. Enjoy it and just know there is another maid, Martha, that enters
the story and she is watching also.
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC in exchange for my
review.

I was gifted an early copy to review. This is my honest opinion.
I am a huge Freidah Readah. She is the queen of easy, fast paced reads with one
or 2 crazy twists in.
The Housemaid is one of my favourite thriller books to date, and I recommend it
to everyone. The Housemaid's Secret, Book 2, is also equally as good. So when I
saw there would be a Book 3, I was giddy with anticipation.
I loved the opening prologue- I made friends jealous showing them the first
line! It was fantastic to see where Millie had ended up years after Book 2.
This is everything I hoped for. The pacing was a little more of a slow burn at
the start- but it was still compulsive, and I knew there would be some OMG
moments to come...
Wow. I gasped and dropped my kindle at some of the twists.
The second half is a wild, crazy ride and I read it in one sitting. It was
gripping, shocking, and simply stunning with the brilliance and complexity of
the ending.
My favourite Freida of recent books. I loved it.

English is not my first language. I speak, write and read in English, but that
is not as easy for me as in my first language. I read my first Freida's book in
Polish. And couldn't find any other in Polsh version. But I liked her writing so
much... I couldn't stop reading English edition of Housemaid and ordered second
part already before ending it. I like this kind of writing, when you turn page
after page to find out what is the plot, can't stop and feel happy at the end. I
really enjoy Freida McFadden's books and I want to read the next one very soon.

HERE'S THE DIRT on "The Housemaid Is Watching":

1) If you've been watching (and waiting!) for a new Freida book, "The Housemaid
Is Watching" is for you!

2) The third book in Freida McFadden's "Housemaid" series is also a standalone
read.

3) MORE DIRT: Protagonist Millie is no longer a housemaid.

She is the loving mother of two children with her own Long Island domicile and
housemaid.

4) This fast-paced domestic thriller is character-driven, entertaining, twisty,
and guaranteed to sweep you off your feet.

5) There is only one dead body in this book, but no shortage of unreliable
narrators.

I listened to the audiobook read by Lauryn Allman and Ina Marie Smith.

Both narrators gave stellar performances.

I was not a fan of Housemaid Book #2 but IMHO, Book #3 is a winner!

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this
audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars, rounded up.

I’ve loved Millie since the first book. She’s back in book #3 with Enzo, her
husband of 12 years and her two children.

Frieda McFadden has a great snarky sense of humor and it’s in high gear here.
What I like most about her books is that they are always a fun listen and she
doesn’t take herself too seriously. The narration by Ina Marie Smith and Lauryn
Allman is excellent. I do agree with those who are confused by Enzo’s accent,
but it’s now part of the charm of the story for me. Even if Enzo sometimes
appears to be from Transylvania rather than Italy!

Book #1 will likely always be my favorite in this series, but it was fun to see
what Millie is up to these days and I always enjoy listening to this author’s
books on audio. While this wasn’t my favorite of the three, I certainly enjoyed
it and I remain a McFan.

I have loved this entire series. Millie continues her story with Enzo as they
move to Long Island. She wants her past to stay in the past, but noisy neighbors
are NOT what she wanted. This home is is meant for her, Enzo and their two
children.

The neighbor Suzette, who is married flirts and shows unwanted attention to
Enzo, and this does NOT set well with Millie.

As anticipated, this novel is the perfect follow-up to this MUCH loved series. I
cannot get enough of Millie. No spoilers, but McFadden always gives US what we
want. Millie is such a fun character. I would love to see this in a movie or a
series.

Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this free ARC in exchange for my

debated this rating because it’s hard to rate a book 4⭐️ when the writing isn’t
profound but kept you hooked like Frieda normally does

Millie is back, years later married with two kids and just moved to a new
neighbourhood from The Bronx. Everything seems perfect in this new neighbourhood
and their beautiful new home until Millie meets the neighbours. It is clear that
Mrs. Lowell is hitting on her husband right in front of her and her other
neighbour seems to be watching herand gives her a strange warning: be careful of
your neighbours. Millie begins to wonder, was moving here a huge mistake?

Was a third book necessary? Absolutely not. Was I going to read it anyways? Of
course. Before I even read the housemaid or any Freida books, I knew the
housemaid was an “it” book, and of course it was. Now, it’s so clear how hard
Freida is milking the book that made her pop off. Was this the typical “has you
hooked the entire time”? Absolutely yes! Was it profound? Not at all. A typical
Freida popcorn thriller and nothing more. I was shocked, yet found it mildly
predictable and couldn’t find a reason to give a book that kept me thoroughly
entertained less than 4⭐️s. Worth the read, easily devour-able in one sitting,
but truly nothing special.

Solid 3.5 stars for this one. Another fast paced, quick read. There were several
classic Freida twists, unreliable characters, surprising suspects…but it lacked
the mind blowing ending that I like from Freida. I would still recommend to
anyone who enjoyed the first two in the series. This one just doesn’t meet their
level IMO.

I finished The Housemaid Is Watching! I was selected as one of the few lucky
readers to get early access as an ARC through NetGalley! I'll share my final
review below. Thank you Freida McFadden and Mandy Chahal with Poisoned Pen Press
for the opportunity! My fellow Freida readahs and Mcfans know this book is
releasing in June! Don't forget to pre-order it!

Frieda Mcfadden does it again! She grabs your attention from the very first
sentence of the book and keeps you wanting more! The House Made Is Watching
exceeded my expectations. Just like all of Freida Mcfadden's books it was a very
easy read, keeps you guessing, and my jaw always hits the floor by the time I
get to the twist and ending. Not to mention I couldn't put this book down! Make
sure to clear your schedule for when you finally get your hands on a copy! 🤣

I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew I had to get my hands on the third book
in the Housemaid series since I absolutely loved the first two books. I didn't
know I enjoyed reading psychological thriller books until I read The Housemaid.
After reading the first two books I haven't been able to steer away from
thrillers and I have made it a mission to read all of Freida's books!

Let me tell you this book did not disappoint. I highly recommend you to read The
Housemaid Is Watching to see what Millie and Enzo are up to, as these characters
are ones we have all grown to know and love! I would be ecstatic to have Millie
and her husband as neighbors, but do their new neighbors feel the same way? Do
you think Millie has left her secrets in the past after 10 years? There is only
one way to find out! I give this book 5/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks to #NetGallley and #Bookouture for the book #TheHousemaidIsWatching by
#FreidaMcFadden. I absolutely love this book along with the previous two. Millie
and Enzo are the ultimate couple and now parents. They move into a house in a
nice neighborhood and things start going awry. It seems like trouble is always
following them. Can they escape this craziness? I hope there will be a fourth
installment to these two crazy but loving people.

The Housemaid is Watching is book 3 in a series by Freida McFadden featuring
main character Millie, a spitball with a spine and a past, and her now husband
of 12 years, Enzo. One of the things I appreciate about all McFadden novels is
her tone in her diaglogue. I feel like I'm listening to a genuine, sarcastic
character and my assumption is that is all Freida's personality being expressed.
I could probably have a beer with this author and laugh a ton.

That said, I hate to say book 3 makes me hope there is no book 4. I can imagine
authors, and publishers, love to continue a series because the established
readers buy the books to find out what happens next. It must be much easier to
start out selling when a bandwagon is standing nearby. I LOVED book 1, The
Housemaid. I enjoyed book 2, The Housemaid's Secret so, when invited to listen
to the audio arc of book 3, it was a no-brainer.

This one feels different from the first two. Millie is now years into parenting,
working her career, and is settled in life. The purchase of a new home which
taxes their finances, an upper scale neighborhood with a neighbor or two I
wanted to punch, made the first half of this novel great. It was the set-up to
an established genre plot line for a good domestic thriller. Then it got dark.
Darker than I was comfortable with, and in a way in which I cannot say more or
it will completely spoil the novel.

Do you need to read books 1 and 2 first? No, I don't think that's required in
this series because the change in feel for book 3 is so drastic.

Will I read a book 4 if it's written? Of course. I'm on the bandwagon just like
everyone else.

Longer review TK

Quick notes:

- Classic FMcF cold open with an unnamed dead person and an unknown other person
covered in blood. (Love!)

- Enzo is still a-riding the inconsistent accent a-rollercoaster.

- Overall surprisingly boring, especially the first half. I expected (and hoped
for) much more craziness from Millie, but I guess everyone slows down a bit
after they have kids and approach middle age. 🤷🏻‍♀️

- The very last line was absolutely ridiculous.

- No Louboutins or turtles (other than Millie saying she hates turtles, which
made me laugh)

* thanks to Poisoned Pen for the NetGalley review copy. The Housemaid is

Millie is my favorite character! Millie and Enzo…LOVE! I loved reading their
story. Millie and Enzo have two children and some VERY nosy neighbors. The kind
that just get under your skin and make you wanna scream or move! LOL. Millie and
Enzo’s story was so fun to read and I loved the suspense and twists!

Thank you to the author for this early copy. Thank you so so much!

*All opinions are my own.

This Review could contain spoilers!
Huge fan of The Housemaid books #1 & #2. So many great suspenseful and thrilling
moments. Book #3 The Housemaid Is Watching really felt like “things may not be
what they seem” and it turned out to be true in this case! Love seeing Millie in
this new role, domesticated, wife, mom, with a career not cleaning houses. Not
much suspense/thrill in my opinion, but loads of mystery. Many years have passed
since the ending of the last story (in book #2) so it was nice to read about
what has happened during this years. It is made clear in the beginning of this
book that Millie is no longer a housemaid so throughout the book I kept
wondering if it was going to keep the same trajectory as the other books,
however, It definitely took a different direction that I wasn’t expecting but I
still enjoyed the story nonetheless! I think this would be a great ending to
this series - I can’t imagine would a Housemaid 4 would be? 🤔
Thank You NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC in exchange for my

I received an advance copy of this book and read it within 24 hours. Without
giving away too much, make sure you read the first two books before reading this
one. Usually when reading books from this author I have a theory or two
throughout the book that turn out to be way off (she’s great at the shocking
twists!) but this time I can honestly say I had ZERO clue where this was going
until the very last few pages.
