Is Refundcheck / HT Legal able to help me?

If you have taken out credit after 2007, there is a chance that this may have
been given to you irresponsibly, HT Legal may be able to help you.

What is Irresponsible Lending?
Lending money without properly checking affordability is known as irresponsible
lending. A creditor must be confident that you can repay the debt without
falling behind on your exiting commitments and avoid financial hardship.
What if I still owe them money?

If you do still have an outstanding balance, there is possibility that any
compensation that you receive may be offset toward what you owe, however you
will still be liable for our fee.

How much compensation will I receive?

Although we cannot guarantee a successful outcome, we aim to get you back 100%

What if my lender tries to contact me?

If your lender tries to contact you, it is your decision if you would like to
engage with them, however, please inform HT Legal of the conversation that has

How long will it take?

Unfortunately, we cannot give any specific time frames and it does depend on the
complexity of each case however the average complaints take approximately around
eight weeks from submission of complaint once we submit the letter of complaint.
Please be aware that this does vary and may take substantially longer if the
case is submitted to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Who is the Financial Ombudsman Service?

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) are an impartial Government appointed body
who will assess your complaint if HT Legal and your lender are unable to come to
a satisfactory resolution, HT Legal may submit your case to FOS.
