Writer. Speaker. Advocate. Model

Man Of My Design

#TransIsBeautiful

"Tiq Milan is one hell of a force of nature. He’s a media maker. He’s a
journalist. He’s a human rights advocate. A father. He is a vital voice within
the trans community.

Milan has seemingly done it all, from big name interviews with Jay-Z and Cicely
Tyson to penning articles for The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Source,
Vibe and others on issues facing the LGBT movement.

Netflix and GLAAD know that authentic media stories and characters are pivotal
in creating acceptance. This is especially true for trans people, who have
either been invisible in mainstream media or portrayed using inaccurate and
offensive stereotypes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tiq and Kim ask us to imagine a world where the self is truly self-determined —
where, as Tiq says, “Who we are is a kaleidoscope of possibility, without the
narrow-minded limitations masquerading as science or justice.”

~ Chelsea Catlett TED Blog
