My passion was always been fashion. However, I decided to challenge myself
studying Integral Designat one of the most prestigious Universities in Chile
that did not offer a Fashion Design Program.

In 2014, for my thesis project,I had my first approach to sustainable fashion.I
worked with a group of Mapuche artisan women from Southern Chile, and we created
a clothing line using the Mapuche loom, dyed  with natural dyes.The burning of
wool in that area was significant, detecting this opportunity and solving it by
creating a network between the local government, the artisans,and the sheep
producers was the main challenge of the project.

In 2018, while working at a big Retail Fashion Company in Chile, I took part in
trend trips to check out and buy clothes from other retailers for reference.
What was not used, was discarded. That end for convinced me to create my own
sustainable fashion brand: VANDER.I purchased a sewing machine, enrolled in a
cut & sew course and began creating clothes from the discarded garments. The
brand was officially founded during a solar eclipse on December 14th, 2020, my
30th birthday.
