All businesses need to upgrade their computing gear at some point to keep up
with technological advances. New computers and technologies are more energy
efficient and productive, which can make a business run more smoothly. In some
cases, though, companies have no choice but to relocate, which means they have
to forego their existing gear.
This was the situation our client, a global compute host worth $100+ million,
was facing when they decided to move out of its newly unfavorable location. They
chose to hire ExIT to take care of all obsolete IT (Information Technology)
equipment and earn revenue through their relocation strategy. Thankfully, they

GLOBAL COMPUTE HOST MOVING OUT OF UNFAVORABLE LOCATIONS
Compute host companies have recently faced some unique challenges after some
countries decided that the High-Performance Computing (HPC) industry is using a
lot of electrical power but not creating enough jobs. In the case of our client,
the country they were located in switched its focus towards economic sectors
that are more labor intensive as a means of promoting local employment. Thus,
the political decision was made to make it complicated for companies like our
client to continue doing business there.
As a result, our client needed secure IT asset disposition (ITAD) services
abroad — and fast.
EXIT WAS ON LOCATION WITHIN 3 DAYS OF SIGNING THE CONTRACT
Within 3 days of the contract being signed, ExIT’s extraction team landed
on-site to test and palletize hundreds of systems with thousands of compute
cards. The gear was paid for in full and picked up two days later.
This meant that our client didn’t lose time and effort during the IT equipment
recycling process and could focus on making revenue from the rest of their
sites.
ExIT expertly handled the complexities of on-site pick-ups in remote
international locations. We also handled international export and import
compliance including paperwork, disclosures, and insurance so that our client
had complete peace of mind.
ON-SITE TESTING
Part of our services involved testing the equipment on-site. This let us — and
our client — know the equipment’s worth before it even left the premises. Thanks
to ExIT’s experience in recycling, repurposing, and reusing IT equipment, we
knew exactly how much the equipment was worth. We were thus able to accurately
quote our client for the IT equipment and stand by our offer irrespective of
functional and cosmetic issues.
SWIFT SERVICE ACROSS TIME ZONES

round the clock and across several time zones to fulfill their contract and
cause minimal disturbance and inconvenience. By using the right strategy and
thanks to our extensive know-how, our team managed to test, palletize, and pick
up the gear within a week of the contract being signed. Thus, our global client
liquidated non-performing assets in the most efficient way possible.

with Nvidia A series compute cards. Most ITAD companies wouldn’t be able to

was able to move and finance hundreds of systems per week.
Our client was thus able to cash out $10M+ for IT gear in a matter of 8-12 weeks
rather than over a year, which improved cash flow and allowed the business to
invest in new, more efficient sites.
Even better, the project qualified for prepay wire transfer payment terms. After
the equipment was inspected, the client received more than $1 million in full.
That was only the first batch from the first facility. ExIT is continuing to
service this client’s disposition needs, with two sites and three conveyances
completed to date.
