CASE STUDY: GEN AI FOR GREENING THE BUDGET AT ANTIBES SOPHIA-ANTIPOLIS USING SAP
JOULE & SAP SUSTAINABILITY CONTROL TOWER

Antibes Sophia-Antipolis, a dynamic French city, has emerged as a leader in
smart cities. This forward-thinking city has garnered international recognition,
with two Smart50 Awards and a 2023 CIO of the Year title for its Chief Digital
Officer (CIO). The city has adopted an ambitious green budget, aligning its
financial allocations with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). A partnership with industry leaders: Kyndryl, NVidia and SAP, positions
Antibes as a frontrunner in pioneering responsible financial practices for a
greener tomorrow. The 2024 Finance Act (implementation of the Green
Administrative Account) will require identifying, within each budget allocation
of municipalities with more than 3,500 inhabitants, the proportion related to
each Sustainable Development Goal. For a budget consisting of several thousand
lines and a dozen objectives, the workload can quickly become substantial. The
City of Antibes has decided to semi-automate this tedious task with the help of
artificial intelligence using SAP Joule. The strengths of this project lie in
managing end-to-end security, as budgetary data is sensitive. The speed of
inference is crucial because it involves comparing over 4,000 lines with 17 SDGs
and assigning a percentage to each element of these 68,000 combinations, along
with a priority index and the nature of the impact on the environment. The
result has been extremely satisfactory, as it has saved hundreds of hours of
work and costly meetings. The technical challenges of integration with Joule
will be described in this session.

Patrick Duverger is the CIO and CTO of the Antibes city (French riviera Sophia
Antipolis), in charge of the smart city transformation from IT services to

Many organizations overlook the SAP user off-boarding process, even after
employees have been disabled in Enterprise Identity Management tools. As a
result, user accounts of off-boarded employees may remain active in the SAP

CASE STUDY: SEAMLESS DISASTER RECOVER FOR A COMPLEX SAP ECOSYSTEM

Business Resiliency has evolved over the period of last 30 years.  During the
1990s the focus was to preserve data using backup technologies by backing up and
moving to offsite for recovery during a disaster.  Next during the early 2000s,
with the improvements in storage and network technologies, online replication
became the standard to achieve the RPO and RTO SLAs for the business.  Next came
the Public Cloud Providers who made the business resiliency completely
transparent to the businesses.  However, even with all these changes and
improvements the monolithic ECC systems running on-premises had some technical
challenges.  The biggest challenge was due to the number of end points (both
internal and external) that created challenges when the systems failed over to
alternate data centers.   B2B VPN configurations, Firewalls for internal and
external traffic depended on the IP address of the system that would change when
failed over to another data center.  Logical change at the DNS will help few
applications but will not help the firewall and B2B configurations. Now, we are
in the 2020s with networking and firewall virtualization.  This session will
present Honeywell’s case study and configuration on how we set up the business
resiliency across entire SAP production landscape to “seamlessly” failover to
alternate data center without any changes to the IP addresses.  We will go over
the technical details of network and firewall virtualization technologies that
enabled us to do so.

Southwest Gas has been engaged with their SAP BTP CSP since 2023 with a goal of

usually utilized in reporting, planning and allocations. In the fast-paced and
