How It Works

This free software lets you design remotely and collaborate effectively. If the
AV professional is working offsite, Designer gives them the flexibility to
preset room audio coverage layouts from anywhere in the world. Templates can be
deployed and adjusted on the fly, making onsite installation and project
management simple.

Quality that’s in the Details

Designer System Configuration Software enables integrators and system planners
to design and implement accurate audio coverage for installations using a
variety of select Shure microphones. Designer allows online and offline design,
routing, configuration, and push to live devices, all in one tool. You can
accurately model meeting and presentation spaces by importing a floor plan,
scaling your room, positioning devices around participant areas and arranging
the pick-up lobes over the room diagram for precise coverage.

Designer allows you to create and edit coverage parameters before your devices
are installed:

 * Identify the microphone positioning, room size and ceiling height
 * Add channels
 * Create accurate coverage areas
 * Adjust equaliser settings
 * Manage signal routing
 * Single hub for Dante™ routing

After completing your design work offline, you can push the settings to the live
devices and fine-tune on site, all from within Designer. If you prefer, you can
always export the device presets to upload and use each device’s web user
interface.

New version came out, 4.6.0. Now my version of 4.4.1 doesn't work anymore.
Coincidence? Planned obsolesce more likely... Oh, and they want me to disable ad
blocker to submit a review. Good one, Shure!

QUICK, EASY TO USE, OPTIMIZATION FEATURE IS FANTASTIC.

It's really convenient. Plug all of your devices into the network, run web
designer and IP them as you see fit, then add them all to a room and hit the
optimize button. 90%+ of your legwork for configuring your room setup is done.
Love it.

ALWAYS GOT MISSING DEVICE

always have issue to find the online device. i installed P300 and MXA910 for few
of my project. everytime i open the shure designer software for sure will have
missing device. i have to unplug MXA910 from the PoE switch then P300 device
will pop out in designer. i also try to change my PoE switch and change the IP
address, everything will be the same.

WISH THE SW WAS AS GOOD AS THE HW.

#1 Please for the love of all things, just let me download it! Cut out all the
signup stuff. This is a tool, I have already paid for the HW. Not a lawyer, but,
click-wrap contracts are nothing new in 2021. (2nd star because it does work)
The general flow of the software is forced and annoying if you are generally
experienced with audio/DSP equipment. Okay, so maybe I am not the target
audience for this software, is it supposed to be a wizard? If that is the case
can I get a professional mode please? The UI has more white space than a blank
sheet of A0 paper! On a small matrix like the P300 I should not have to scroll
around to see all inputs or outputs. Text is often truncated because the font is
too large or the area it is in is too small... why? See previous point;
unnecessary white space. Heck, there is a horizontal bar across the whole
screen... with the Shure logo on the far right, why??? This is NOT a web site,
this not an end user UI. It does look nice, but this is a tool, and I will not
sell more Shure equipment because the tool has a pretty UI. The location stuff
is neat I guess, but flow is forced, and contrived. Hows about just a good ol'
fashioned text field or five? Templates? Why? How about a good file save/load?
It would be nice to do some prep work (maybe on a separate computer) and send a
file? Maybe I'm working on a remote computer? What happens if a system needs a
part replaced? What happens when Bob leaves the company and his laptop gets
reformatted? I know this reads like a rant but I am in the middle of a project
and this is not 2021 software. I will give you my personal time for testing,
feedback, what ever you need. I love Shure, I have used your hardware for
decades! I would not hesitate to recommend Shure, but this software need some
real attention. Shure, I know you can do better.

UPGRADE PATH

 * Designer versions 3.0 and 3.1 must be upgraded to 3.2 first, before upgrading
   to this version of Designer. Download Designer 3.2 here.
 * If you encounter an Installer failure during upgrade, allow the uninstaller
   process to finish, then restart installation 
 * Export project files before upgrading Designer
 * Certain endpoint protection software may block the application, if you
   encounter this anomaly, whitelist the Designer installer or application

 * IntelliMix Room not discovered by Dante Domain Manager until IMXR upgrade,
   reinstall, or factory reset

     * Upgrade or reinstall IntelliMix Room
     * Perform a factory reset of IntelliMix Room
 * IntelliMix Room cannot enroll into Dante Domain Manager across Subnet
 * Mute Sync does not work on Microsoft Teams Rooms when you join Zoom Rooms
