AWARD WINNERS
We are very pleased to announce that Translink Express Logistics were nominated
and awarded the Institute of Supply Chain Management's 'Contribution to
Innovation' award!
On 20th October 2022 Chris & Debbie Hobbis, our Commercial and Finance
Directors traveled to The Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle after being invited by
IoSCM for their Supply Chain Awards.
Our Quality and Compliance Manager Heidi put Team Translink up for the
'Contribution to Innovation' award, especially noting our Commercial Director
Chris Hobbis and his exceptional hard work and organising of the below
projects,
* 2019 during the COVID-19 Pandemic to help deliver essential goods to local
supermarkets we turned our warehouse in to a distribution centre.
* 2021 we closely worked with Blaby District Council on their 'Let's Talk
Logistics' scheme during the HGV driver shortage.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank IoSCM for the nomination and
award andTeam Translink for everyone's hard work and support always.
THE UK INTERNAL MARKET SCHEME (UKIMS)
The UK Internal Market Scheme (UKIMS) will replace the UK Trader Scheme (UKTS)
on 30th September 2023. It will allow traders to demonstrate that goods moving
to Northern Ireland from Great Britain are not at risk of moving to the EU.
Traders must apply for a UKIMS authorisation online ahead of the launch of the
scheme on 30th September 2023. When authorised they will be able to declare that
goods are ‘not at risk’ of being moved to the EU. Goods ‘at risk’ of being moved
to the EU will be charged the applicable EU duty.
‘Not at risk’ goods:
* Will not be charged duty if entering Northern Ireland from free circulation
in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales)
* Will be charged UK duty if entering Northern Ireland from outside the EU and
the UK
* Will be charged UK duty if entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain and
the goods were not in free circulation in Great Britain
The UKIMS will also grant access to the green lane when it opens in September
2024. Goods moving from Great Britain into Northern Ireland through the green
lane will:
* Not be subject to the same processes that apply to other goods entering
Northern Ireland
* Only need to submit a simplified dataset based on commercial information.
Existing UKTS users can continue to declare goods not at risk before
30th September as normal, however, if moving goods on or after 30th September
the UKIMS must be used.

NETWORK IT SYSTEM
Our IT system for pallet delivery within our network Pallet Track has continued
to go from strength to strength with our team working hard to ensure the latest
technology is available for our customers.
Our pallet entry system which is a fantastic tool allowing customers to easily
enter their consignments, with great visual displays, tracking information and
more.
Following on from our ETA email notifications the latest development to the
system now allows our network to send SMS text ETA notifications to a number of
our customers choice.
With an increase in home deliveries within the network over the last 18 months,
this is a fantastic tool further enhancing the consignee experience but also
reducing call volumes dramatically.
The information provided to the consignee can be tailored to suit our customers
requirements.
