How you can make a difference for animals in need this holiday season HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR ANIMALS IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON It’s the season of giving and the perfect time to make even more of a difference in the lives of animals. At Animal Humane Society, there are countless ways to make a meaningful impact – from donating much-needed items to adopting a new furry friend. No matter how you give, your generosity has a huge impact on the animals in our care, in our community, and beyond. Here are some meaningful ways you can give a lasting gift to animals in need this holiday season. DONATE NEW AND GENTLY USED ITEMS From clean towels to puzzle toys, new or gently used items help animals feel happy, healthy, and safe while they await their new beginnings. Make the holidays bright for shelter animals by donating new and gently used items or shopping our Amazon Wish List or Chewy Wish List. Spread the holiday cheer! Shop for shelter animals during your next visit to AHS. Now through December 31, receive 10% off when you buy five items from one of our adoption center locations. All proceeds benefit animals at AHS. ADOPT AN ANIMAL When you welcome a furry friend into your home, you’re giving them the greatest gift of all — the second chance they deserve — and freeing up shelter resources to help another deserving animal in need. Additionally, adoption fees support our programs and services, like investigations into animal cruelty and ensuring animals in our care have access to needed medical care and behavioral rehabilitation. Learn more reasons to consider adopting an animal from AHS. VOLUNTEER Join our incredible team of AHS volunteers and make a difference in the lives of animals this season and beyond. AHS Volunteers play a hands-on role in the lives of animals. From supporting the Vet Center by ensuring spaces are clean and tidy to assisting our dog trainers during training classes, there’s a role for every animal lover to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals. Learn more about offering your time and talent to animals in need at AHS. FOSTER A PET Open your home to a deserving animal through AHS’s foster program. Foster volunteers provide specialized care for animals before they are ready to find their new homes. Currently, AHS is seeking foster support for large dogs (50 pounds and up). If you’re 18 years or older, please consider applying to be a foster volunteer at AHS. PARTICIPATE IN AN EDUCATION PROGRAM Make the holidays magical for an animal lover in your life all while helping animals in need — proceeds from our Education programs benefit animals at AHS. Foster a love for animals with programs for animal lovers of any age with programs like Paint My Pet, where participants paint a portrait of a beloved pet under the guidance of an artist, or Furry Friends & Films, a Friday night movie and pizza night for young animal lovers, and so many more exciting programs! Learn more about our education programs for youth, families, and adults. GIVE THE GIFT OF TRAINING Looking for a present for your furry friend? Give the gift of a strengthened bond between you and your canine companion while helping animals in need — proceeds from our Behavior & Training programs directly support animals at AHS. Our positive reinforcement training classes empower your dog to thrive in real-world situations while fitting into your schedule and skill level. New! Purchase a one-day trial pass to try out a training class before you commit to a two- or four-month pass. MAKE A MONETARY DONATION TO AHS Donations directly impact animals in need at Animal Humane Society in many ways, including providing crucial medical and behavioral care for animals in our shelters, helping cats, dogs, and critters find new homes, and rescuing animals from abusive and neglectful situations. Generous animal lovers like you make the lifesaving work of AHS possible. Celebrate your love for animals this season by making a gift to AHS today.
