Graphite is used as anode material in lithium-ion batteries and is a critical
raw material for the energy transition. We want to bring both mining and
processing of graphite into the EU, where we have the technologies, know-how,
and regulatory frameworks to support the highest sustainability standards.

The demand for critical minerals is forecast to overtake supply significantly in
the near future, potentially putting the green energy transition at risk. The EU
relies on imports and needs to secure local, sustainable supply for the European
battery value chain.      



 Akku Minerals Oy was set up to address this problem by searching for
high-quality clean energy minerals for the EU that can be explored, extracted
and processed sustainably.
