PROPOSED SHANTZ STATION PIT

Capital Paving is proposing to establish a sand and gravel pit on leased
farmland at 1195 Foerster Road, south of the village of Maryhill. The company is
seeking to remove aggregate materials from the site in phases, with farming
continuing prior to and after material is extracted from each phase. At the end
of the project, the entire site would be rehabilitated back to prime farmland
for ongoing crop production.

The proposed pit is not expected to have any impact on the village of Maryhill,
since plans are for trucks to travel between the site and Highway #7 via Shantz
Station Road, and then east and west along the highway to construction sites in
the area.

Included on this website is an information guide about the proposed pit, as well
as technical reports and summaries, newsletters, information about coming events
and contact information.
