✨ How to use Atlas

🎯 Projects & Goals

Follow projects, goals, topics, and teams
Follow projects, goals, topics, and teams

Get all the signal and none of the noise by following the projects, goals,
teams, and topics relevant to you

Written by Daniella Latham
Updated over a week ago

Atlas allows you to follow projects, goals, topics (tags), and teams so you can
ensure stakeholders get all of the signal and none of the noise. This increases
the likelihood that anyone can always answer, "how's it going?", for the
projects and goals they care about most.

HOW TO FOLLOW THE PROJECTS AND GOALS YOU CARE ABOUT

Auto-following

If you are the owner of a project or goal, or contributor to a project, you are
automatically added as a follower.

FOLLOW INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS AND GOALS

You can follow individual projects and goals from the right sidebar of any
project or goal's homepage.

FOLLOW EVERY PROJECT AND GOAL WITH A SPECIFIC TAG (TOPIC)

When you click on a tag in the right sidebar of a project or goal's homepage
you'll be taken to your Home where you'll be given the option to follow the tag.

Following a tag gives you a dedicated feed for all the updates of any project or
goal that has that tag – now and in the future. It's a great way to stay across
all the work that's happening across a department or program of work. Here's a
quick demo of how it works:

💡 Embed a live list of projects with a tag in Confluence pages & Jira issues

FOLLOW ALL PROJECTS AND GOALS A TEAM IS WORKING ON

Particularly useful for managers and leaders, you can also follow all the
projects and goals a team is contributing to. From a team's profile, just click
follow in the Projects and goals section and you automatically be added as a
follower of all their projects and goals – now and in the future.

Following a team gives you a dedicated feed for all the updates of any project
or goal the team is contributing to – now and in the future – under your Home in
Atlas.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE A FOLLOWER?

Every Monday, you’ll see a personalized digest of updates on the projects and
goals you’ve chosen to follow from feed in Atlas under Home. Note that projects
in Atlas are updated weekly. Goals are updated monthly.

In addition to your feed under Home in Atlas, on Monday morning you’ll get a
personalized digest of updates delivered directly to email, Slack, or Microsoft
Teams. The personalised digest of projects you follow is sent weekly. Your goals
digest is sent monthly.

ENSURE ALL STAKEHOLDERS ARE KEPT IN THE LOOP WITH SLACK

If you have key stakeholders that are not actively following projects and goals
in Atlas, use our Slack app to ensure they are kept informed with automatic
posting of updates to connected Slack channels.
