SAFI

The South African Furniture Initiative “SAFI” was created in 2016 as a joint
initiative of Industry, Labour and Government for the benefit of all the
stakeholders, with the common interest of promoting employment growth, value
addition and transformation across the furniture value chain.

Our aspiration is to have South African designed and manufactured furniture in
every home, school and workplace in Africa and beyond.

Our purpose is to build a globally competitive and transformed furniture
industry that shapes lives in every, home, school and workplace in Africa and
beyond.

Mandate
 * Provide market intelligence information.
 * Facilitate training, mentoring and other support services.
 * Promote the South African furniture manufacturing industry and associated
   furniture design.
 * Facilitate access to domestic and international markets, especially for
   small, and previously disadvantaged individual (PDI) owned enterprises.
 * Determine and facilitate the development and implementation of initiatives
   and programmes to enhance the performance of the South African Furniture
   Industry and to grow the industry.
 * Sustain existing employment and create new employment opportunities within
   the furniture industry’s value chain.
 * Facilitate the development of strategic relationships throughout the
   furniture value chain.

SAFI membership offers access to all all our industry platforms, content and
industry initiatives. Our Members, or furniture manufacturers, as well as
Associated Members, comprised of associations, designers, interior decorators,
fixed asset suppliers, raw material providers, retailers, service providers and
other stakeholders all benefit from SAFI’s interconnected platforms that empower
stakeholders, while shaping a collaborative and efficient industry landscape.


BUSINESS DIRECTORY

The Business Directory serves as a local showcase, presenting a diverse range of
manufacturers and service providers within the South African furniture industry.
This dynamic platform acts as a hub for manufacturers, designers, interior
decorators, fixed asset suppliers, raw material suppliers, retailers and service
providers to come together, foster collaboration, and flourish in their
respective roles.

The Employment Portal, is designed to bridge the gap between employers and job
seekers within the industry. This dynamic platform streamlines the hiring
process, allowing employers to post job listings, review applications, and
schedule interviews effortlessly. For job seekers, the portal offers a
user-friendly interface to explore opportunities, upload CV’s, and access
valuable career resources.

The Industry Tender Board, serves as a centralised hub for opportunities within
