FASHION&BUSINESS

The Fashion&Business Saturday Club introduces young people to the latest
industry thinking and the breadth of opportunities available in fashion’s
dynamic sector.

The fashion industry is one of the largest employers in the UK’s creative
sector. Whether you have ambitions to be a designer or want to work as a buyer
or textile technologist, the Fashion&Business Saturday Club is a great first
step to gaining an insight into the industry.

As well as considering themes such as self-expression and sustainability, Club
members explore wide-ranging topics including trend-forecasting, embroidery,
visual merchandising, pattern-cutting, and styling.

Throughout the programme,  Club members will develop practical skills and key
transferable attributes, such as creative problem-solving and business acumen.

The Fashion&Business Saturday Club is supported by the British Fashion Council.


WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Fashion&Business Saturday Clubs cover multiple areas and techniques, from
materials technology and trend-forecasting to fashion journalism and retail
management. Clubs also look at the fashion calendar, and consider ethical issues
such as sustainable sourcing and intellectual property. Masterclasses and
workshops with top fashion professionals and companies give an up-to-the-minute
picture of the workings of the industry and its current opportunities.
