Find Out More Personal Service Lifeline Response Service In some areas we can also offer a Lifeline Response service where we will come to your home in an emergency if needed. Our Lifeline response officers are first aid trained and can assist and assess whether further assistance is needed. Find Out More Important Notice Beware – possible scam calls We have had reports that some of our customers have been contacted by salespeople telling them that they need to sign up for an alternative service because their Lifeline service will no longer work. This is untrue. Please be mindful of these types of calls. If in doubt, please contact us on 01823 772331 or lifeline@somerset.gov.uk Find Out More HOW TO GET STARTED HOW IT WORKS Somerset Lifeline is an emergency alarm comprising a button worn on the wrist or around the neck, and a small alarm unit that plugs into your electricity socket and phone line. At the touch of a button help is on hand from our Somerset based response team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For more information see our in depth Somerset Lifeline User Guide . STEP 1 Press the button on your pendant or wristband and the base unit immediately connects to our 24-hour response team STEP 2 An operator will answer your call and contact either your nominated key holder or the emergency services if they are needed STEP 3 Help will be with you as soon as possible. If you have our Lifeline Response service our officers could be called to your home to assist Choose the right plan for you Payment Plans Pay monthly or annually – whichever suits you best. Whether you’ve got questions about paying monthly or annually or would like to know more about our Digital Hubs, or our Lifeline Response Service we are happy to talk through the options with you Get In Touch DIGITAL SHIFT BT announced in 2017 that they would be moving their analogue telephone lines to a faster digital system, which means that after 2025 you will no longer have an option to plug your landline into a socket on the wall but it will instead be plugged into a Wi-Fi router. This change affects everyone with an existing phone line including Lifeline customers and the transition to the new digital system is planned to be completed by 2025. Please do not worry about this change as your telephone provider will contact you when work is to begin in your area.
