ABOUT US

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an
international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives.
We draw on more than 60 years of experience and insights to shape policies that
foster prosperity and opportunity, underpinned by equality and well-being. We
work closely with policy makers, stakeholders and citizens to establish
evidence-based international standards and to find solutions to social, economic
and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and
strengthening policies to fight climate change to bolstering education and
fighting international tax evasion, the OECD is a unique forum and knowledge hub
for data, analysis and best practices in public policy. Our core aim is to set
international standards and support their implementation – and help countries
forge a path towards stronger, fairer and cleaner societies.

In a major step towards standardised data on countries’ climate policies, the
Inclusive Forum on Carbon Mitigation Approaches #IFCMA has adopted a novel
typology and data structure to systematically classify and describe climate
policy instruments across countries and support data collection for the
forthcoming IFCMA Climate Policy Database, which will be delivered by the end
of 2025.. The framework aligns the IFCMA Climate Policy Database with
international reporting standards such as those under the Paris Agreement,
enabling countries to leverage the database for their international reporting
obligations should they choose to do so. This will reduce their reporting
burden while improving data consistency within international processes. The
database and its underlying typology and data structure will help enhance
understanding of the range of different policies implemented by countries, as
well as their design features, and open new avenues for empirical research on
climate action. Find our more: https://brnw.ch/21wPy94

🆕 OECD report highlights 5 #innovation trends in #PublicServices, drawn from
nearly 800 cases across 83 countries. ➡️ Public services are the main
touchpoints between governments and people. As societies change, so do the
expectations placed on public services, prompting governments to find
innovative ways to meet these evolving needs.   It describes pioneering
practices that demonstrate governments’ commitment to promoting principles of
human-centred innovation of public services, as put forward by the OECD
Recommendation on Human-centred Public Administrative Services. These cases
reflect a shared understanding that effective public services must not only
be efficient but also inclusive, accessible and adaptable to people’s needs.
It is these very qualities which impact lives, business competitiveness and
social prosperity, and shape trust in public institutions.   Download report
🔗 https://lnkd.in/dP24kD67 Five trends in innovation for better public
   services:   1. Future-oriented & co-created ➡️ Governments are working with
users and stakeholders to co-design solutions and anticipate future needs,
creating public services that are flexible and responsive to change, and are
therefore more resilient and sustainable in the long term. Standout cases
   from 🇫🇮 Finland, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇳🇴 Norway, & 🇺🇸 USA   2. Digital &
innovative ➡️ Governments are investing in scalable digital infrastructure,
experimenting with emergent technologies, and expanding innovative and
digital skills. Standout cases from 🇬🇷 Greece, 🇮🇹 India, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇵🇹
   Portugal & 🇰🇷 SouthKorea.   3. Accessible & inclusive ➡️ Governments are
advancing proactive and personalised services for increased accessibility,
inclusion, and equity. Standout cases from 🇷🇸 Serbia, 🇸🇪 Sweden & 🇺🇸
USA   4. Data powered ➡️ Governments are using both traditional and
non-traditional data sources to guide public service design, implementation,
and improvements. They are increasingly using experimentation to navigate
complex and unpredictable environments. Standout cases from 🇸🇬 Singapore,
   🇰🇷 South Korea, 🇹🇷 Türkiye & 🇬🇧 UK   5. Public participation ➡️
Governments are seeing public services as an opportunity for citizens to
exercise their rights and hold governments accountable for upholding
democratic values. Standout cases from 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇫🇷 France & 🇪🇸

In the next 5 years, 50% of the skills required for our jobs will change,
with AI innovations accelerating that shift to 70%. As AI technical skills
grow in demand, human skills like communication, creativity, and teamwork —
often referred to as "soft skills"— are becoming increasingly important.
These are the skills that will set us apart, enabling innovation in ways
technology can’t. To navigate these changes, we need collaboration across
sectors to better define, train, and assess these foundational skills within
the global workforce and education ecosystem. Join us for an engaging
conversation on how we can prepare the workforce for the future ahead with
Andreas SCHLEICHER (Director at OECD Education and Skills), Sue Duke (VP
Global Public Policy & Economic Graph at LinkedIn), and Aneesh Raman (Chief
   Economic Opportunity Officer at LinkedIn).

Young people who are neither in employment nor in education or training are
at risk of becoming socially excluded. Investing in more and better-quality
jobs, as well as guaranteeing labour rights and adequate pay is necessary to
foster better labour outcomes for young people. OECD’s Youth Policy Toolkit
provides practical guidance and inspiring policy examples of how to support
young people in their transition into the labour market. Learn how countries
are promoting better employment outcomes with the OECD Youth Policy Toolkit:
