IMPORTANT UPDATE : SCRAMBLE AND ANNOUNCEMENT DATES CHANGED : 2025-2026 COMPLEX
GASTROINTESTINAL SURGERY, ADVANCED GI MIS, BARIATRICS, COMPREHENSIVE FLEXIBLE
ENDOSCOPY, FOREGUT, HERNIA & ABDOMINAL WALL, AND HPB FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION AND
MATCHING PROCESS CYCLE

Due to technical difficulties experienced with the matching system, we were
unable to run the match on July 17, 2024.

Scramble is now scheduled to take place on Monday, July 22, 2024, between
9:00-9:30AM (Pacific). The match announcement is now scheduled to take place on
Tuesday, July 23, 2024, between 9:00-9:30AM (Pacific).

We will update the website to reflect these changes. We apologize for any
inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

WHAT’S NEW AT THE FELLOWSHIP COUNCIL?

 * Fellowship applicants now have the option to share a video of an operation
   they performed as part of their application. Please see FAQ for details.
 * Please read the Fellowship Council’s Designation Descriptions and Criteria
 * Beginning this year, we will offer a fellowship designation in Hernia &
   Abdominal Wall.
 * The Fellowship Council will now offer a discount on application fees for
   residents of Low to Middle Income Countries.
 * We have updated our matching policies, beginning December 1st, 2023.

   find that post-fellowship position.

The match application process begins roughly 12 months before the fellowship
start date.

 * Tuesday, August 1, 2024 at 5:00PM Pacific: Fellowship Application Process
   Opens
 * Monday, September 16, 2024: Fellowship Application Closes
 * Wednesday, September 18, 2024: Fellowships Gain Access to Applicants
 * Thursday, October 31, 2024: Quota Change Deadline
 * Friday, November 1, 2024: Rank Order List Opens
 * Wednesday, November 20, 2024: Rank Order List Deadline
 * Thursday, December 4, 2024: Scramble Date
 * Friday, December 5, 2024: Date for Announcement of Fellowship Matches
 * Friday, August 1, 2025: Fellowships Begin

The deadline to submit a rank order list is Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at
11:59PM Pacific.
