ABOUT THIS BREED

Energetic, loving, and playful, the Morkie combines the characteristics of both
the Maltese and the Yorkshire terrier.
Often resembling small teddy bears, Morkie puppies are adorable and grow into
highly affectionate little balls of fluff.




PERSONALITY

Many Morkie lovers describe the breed as loving “fluffballs” who love their
humans and socialize with other people and pups alike. Despite their small
stature, the Morkie has a big personality with energy levels to match. Thanks to
the Terrier in them, Morkies can be somewhat stubborn. Training may be
challenging, but a Morkie can learn to obey commands with patience and
persistence.


CHILDREN AND OTHER PETS

Morkies prefer to be around adults or older kids who know how to play gently.
Since the Morkie is a small dog, they can be easily injured by overly excited
children. That said, for children who learn early how to approach and play with
a small dog properly, the Morkie can make a great, active companion.

HEALTHY PUPS

The most common issue seen with Morkies is the eye, ear, and oral health
problems typical of the breeds from this cross. They are also predisposed to the
collapsed trachea and reverse sneezing. Our Morkies are screened for these
health conditions via medical testing.
