Dear Partner,  


We’re reaching out to inform you of the Digital Services Act (DSA) - new EU
legislation that will impact online platforms that offer services to businesses
and/or consumers based in the EU.   


It applies to online platforms that provide services to EU users, regardless of
where those platforms are established. It introduces a number of new rules and
requirements, but most relevant to our relationship is the new reporting
mechanism and trader disclosures.  


The rules applicable to online platforms will start to apply from Feb. 17, 2024
and so in advance of that we will be providing: 

 1. An intake form will be available on partner portal from effective date for
    partners to submit details of potentially illegal content to be reviewed by
    Expedia Group; and
 2. Extra fields in the API related to our suppliers, such as their business
    registration number (if they have one).

Action required: As with the recently implemented New Deal for Consumers
legislation, it is your responsibility to ensure you are taking steps to
communicate to customers and comply with these new requirements. We will provide
you with more information in the upcoming weeks so you can start planning your
development resources before the legislation starts to apply.  


Please note we cannot provide legal advice on your compliance and highly
recommend that you start assessing the impact of DSA on your own business and
seek independent advice if necessary. Fines for non-compliance with the Digital
Services Act can reach up to 6% of global annual revenue and so we highly
recommend spending time to ensure you are planning any necessary developments in
advance.
