2024 WEEK FOUR 12-TEAM COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKINGS PREDICTION

After last week’s shake-up in the college football playoff rankings, this
weekend was relatively mundane. Still, one team has earned its place back in the
running.

Clemson returns like the Undertaker popping out of a coffin after its 59–35
victory over NC State. The last time the Tigers were on the CFP rankings was
week zero as the ACC conference champs. However, after No. 1 Georgia smacked it,
Clemson dropped out.

Right now, the Wolfpack aren’t a very good team, especially with Grayson McCall
on the sideline with an injury. But to treat another Power Four team as it did
Appalachian State proves that something in that Georgia game awakened the
Tigers, and now they’re taking it out on the rest of the ACC.

Clemson is replacing USC after its 27-24 loss to last season's national champs,
Michigan. On the surface, it doesn't look like a bad loss, but the Wolverines
aren't the same team it was last year. Texas smoked them in Ann Arbor and looked
sluggish against Fresno State and Arkansas State. The fear for USC when it moved
to the Big 10 was not knowing how well it would handle the physicality that the
conference brings week after week. If it can't handle Michigan in a 'down' year,
the rest of its schedule is bound to give USC fits.

One team did lose but is still showing in this week's ranking. That team is
Oklahoma State. The Pokes played a very good Utah team and lost by three points.
Of course, Utah didn’t have Cam Rising, but it’s still not a horrible loss.
However, Oklahoma State's schedule isn’t insanely tough. There are enough good
teams left to help them rise in the rankings, but no one they shouldn’t beat. If
they make it to the Big 12 championship for a potential rematch with Utah, give
me the Cowboys.
