THE

A2WRE UNIVERSE

and everything you need to know about it

There are several 'spaces' that are hosted on AWS WorkDocs, that belong to
different teams and are completely independent of each other, requiring separate
access credentials. A2WRE is one of them .

EXPLORING

GETTING AN ACCOUNT

First things first, to have access to the A2WRE universe, you'll need an
account. To request an account, please raise a ticket using the links in the
wiki.

Note: Please raise individual tickets for separate users.

Note: Getting an account doesn’t mean that you’ll have direct access to project
folders or any content. When people store documents in their own MyDocs , the
admins do not have rights to grant anyone access to those.To get access to
particular files and folders, you need to contact the folder owner directly.
Please do not raise a ticket asking for access to folders with the exception of
Project Collab. For the EU PROJECTS Live folders, a list of folder owners is
available on the Wiki: https://w.amazon.com/bin/view/WorkDocs_EU_Projects/

Your personal files (that you create) will appear here

Once you have an account, you will be able to log in and view three distinct
tabs:

 * MyDocs

 * Collaborate

 * Activity

Files and folders shared with you will appear here

Actions performed on files and folders shared with you, by others, will appear
here

EU PROJECTS LIVE

This is the space where all the project files live. Projects are segregated
according to building type. The following teams have access to EU Projects Live
folder:

 * Design & Construction team
 * Engineering team
 * Startup team
 * IT team
 * LP team
 * WWEngineering

If you’re a member of these teams, you should have access to EU Projects Live.
If you do not, ask your manager to raise a SIM ticket to get you access to the
folder.

Other teams like Technology Deployment, Advanced Technology and RME also
collaborate in these folders but opted to have restricted access. Many other
teams collaborate on this space but at project level. Externals will not be
given access to this folder. They can get access to individual project folders
if they’re doing relevant work.

Note: If you are a new hire, please ask your manager to raise a ticket to get an
account on A2WRE WorkDocs.

FOLDER STRUCTURE

Each project folder inside EU Projects Live has the following six sub-folders:

 * Project Collab - this is the folder where the different teams involved in the
   project collaborate. Project managers of respective teams should make sure
   that the latest version of drawings are available here. Please raise a ticket
   using the appropriate link to get access to this folder.
 * D&C - this is the folder where files related to the design and construction
   of an individual project are stored. Think building design, for example.
 * ENG - this is the folder where files related to the engineering of a project
   are stored. Think conveyor system installations, for example.

 * IT - this is the folder where files related to IT for a project are stored.
   Think network and access point infrastructure, for example.
 * LP - this is the folder where files related to loss prevention measures for a
   project are stored. Think CCTV placement plans, for example.
 * WWE - this is the folder where standard templates related to a project are
   stored. Think material handling equipment layouts, for example.

Note: This folder structure and its internal substructure has been defined by
the concerned teams and should not be altered. Users can append to this
substructure but should not change or rename them.

Note: The project managers from each of these teams are responsible for folder
ownership.

SHARING FILES AND FOLDERS

You can invite users to share a folder or file, either within or outside Amazon.
When you invite people, you choose which permissions to grant to the people that
you're sharing with. There are three levels of sharing permissions:

 * Viewer – allows viewing and downloading files only.
 * Contributor – allows viewing, downloading, modifying and uploading files.
 * Co-owner – on top of doing all of the above, co-owners can also share the
   folders/files with other users.

If you share a folder, the permissions for that folder apply to all the
documents inside the folder. Sharing via link is not recommended as when a
file/folder is shared via this method - you do not have any control over
privileges.

As a folder owner, these are the things you need to keep in mind:

 * You are responsible for the people you share the folder with and the content
   you're sharing
 * Folder access in WorkDocs works like a cascade, i.e, if a person has access
   to a folder, they will have access to all sub-folders within the folders.
   Please exercise good judgement while granting access to parent project
   folders

Note: Externals will not be granted access to parent project folders. All the
information needed from the other teams is made available in the Project Collab
folder

WIKI

Now that you know the basics about the A2WRE Universe, be sure to check out the
wiki for a more comprehensive understanding.

https://w.amazon.com/bin/view/WorkDocs_EU_Projects/

A Quick Recap:

To get an A2WRE account, raise a ticket using the appropriate links.

Getting an account does not mean that you will have access to folders.

To get access to folders, the folder owners need to be contacted directly. For
EU Projects, the list of folder owners is available on the wiki.

Remember to always share folders by inviting people and not via link sharing.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed this training module. Do not
forget to check out our Wiki.
