ABOUT PORTING OUT YOUR MOBILE NUMBER

HOW DO I TRANSFER MY VERIZON MOBILE PHONE NUMBER TO ANOTHER WIRELESS CARRIER?

If you have a standard account*, the first step is to request a Number Transfer
PIN. To transfer your Verizon number to another carrier, you will need to
provide this PIN and your Verizon Account Number as authorization for the
transfer. How do I request a Number Transfer PIN?

Once you've received your Number Transfer PIN and Verizon Account Number, you
can begin the number transfer (or port out) process with your new carrier.

If you plan to trade your device, get the Number Transfer PIN before returning
the device.

If you're a prepaid customer or have a business account, you'll continue using
the Billing Account PIN and Verizon Account Number when transferring your
number.

Important: Do not disconnect your Verizon phone line before requesting the
number transfer from your new carrier.

The new carrier will contact Verizon at the appropriate time to transfer your
Verizon number and disconnect your line. If you disconnect your Verizon line
before contacting the new carrier to transfer your phone number, you’ll have to
reactivate your Verizon number first before you can port it out.

*Not available for business and prepaid accounts.






HOW DO I REQUEST A NUMBER TRANSFER PIN?

To request a Number Transfer PIN you must have a standard account* and be the
Account Owner or Account Manager.

Dial #PORT to request a Number Transfer PIN

To request your Number Transfer PIN, dial #PORT from your smartphone. If the My
Verizon app is installed on your device, you'll be directed to the Number
Transfer PIN screen in the app. If the app is not installed, you'll be directed
to the Number Transfer PIN screen on your mobile browser.

Request a Number Transfer PIN online

To request a Number Transfer PIN online, go to the Number Transfer PIN page and
click or tap Generate PIN. Your PIN and Account Number will display on the
screen.

Keep your Number Transfer PIN and Account Number safe and do not share it with
anyone except the new carrier or an account member. Verizon will never ask you
for this information.

The Number Transfer PIN is valid for any line being transferred from your
Verizon account. The Number Transfer PIN is valid for 7 days so it is important
that you provide this information to your new carrier immediately to prevent
fall out.

*Not available for business and prepaid accounts.






HOW DO I KNOW IF MY VERIZON NUMBER HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER CARRIER?

When you submit the request with your new Wireless carrier to transfer your
Verizon number, you'll receive a text message notifying you of the port-out
request. After your phone number has transferred to the new carrier, you'll
receive a notification email.

If you receive a text or email message about a request to transfer your number
that you did not make, please call the number in the message.






ARE THERE ANY CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH TRANSFERRING MY VERIZON NUMBER TO ANOTHER
CARRIER?

We don't charge a specific fee for transferring numbers to or from our service.
However, when you transfer your mobile number from Verizon, an Early Termination
Fee may apply if your line of service has a minimum contract term.

Note:

 * If you port out your last phone line, you must also cancel any connected
   device lines (i.e., Mobile Hotspot device, smartwatch, tablet, etc.) to stop
   charges for those lines.
 * If you purchased your device with device payments you'll be responsible for
   the remaining balance if there is one.

WHAT IS A NUMBER LOCK?

A scammer who gets your personal information could transfer your mobile number
to another carrier. This is called an unauthorized port out. The scammer then
could get your calls and texts to take control of other accounts, like banking
and social media.

You can set up a Number Lock for free to protect your mobile number from an
unauthorized transfer. Once a lock is set up for a number, that number cannot be
ported to another line/carrier unless you remove the lock.

You can set up a Number Lock in My Verizon or by calling Customer Service at
*611.

Note: Number Lock on your mobile number does not help prevent SIM card changes
or equipment changes.






HOW DO I SET UP A NUMBER LOCK TO PROTECT MY NUMBER FROM BEING PORTED WITHOUT MY
PERMISSION?

My Verizon app

 1. Tap the Settings icon in the top right.
 2. Tap Number Lock.
 3. Tap the switch on (green) for the number(s) you want to lock. The numbers
    you selected can't be ported to another device or carrier while Number Lock
    is on. You must turn off Number Lock to port out one of the numbers you
    locked.

My Verizon online

 1. Go to the Number Lock page and sign in if requested to do so.
 2. Select On next to the mobile number(s) that you want to protect from being
    transferred.
 3. Tap or click Save Changes. The numbers you selected cannot be ported to
    another device or carrier while Number Lock is on. You must turn off Number
    Lock before you can port out one of the numbers you locked.






HOW DO I TURN OFF A NUMBER LOCK?

You can turn off a Number Lock with the My Verizon website and app or by calling
Customer Service at *611. You must be an Account Owner or Account Manager to
turn off a Number Lock.

My Verizon app

 1. Tap the Settings icon in the top right.
 2. Tap Number Lock.
 3. Tap the switch off (black) for the number(s) you want to unlock. The mobile
    number(s) you unlocked can now be ported to another carrier.

My Verizon online

 1. Go to the Number Lock page and sign in if requested to do so.
 2. Select Off next to the number(s) that you want to unlock.
 3. For your security we will send you an authorization code to confirm your
    request. Select the number that you want to be sent the authorization code
    and tap or click Send Code.
 4. Enter the authorization code and tap or click Submit and then OK.
 5. Tap or click Save Changes. The mobile number(s) you unlocked can now be
    ported to another carrier.
