SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL, MICHIGAN CHAPTER’S REFUND POLICY

FOR PURCHASES OF DONATED AUCTION ITEMS

 Except as set forth below, any hunt or other Item (collectively, “Item”) sold
or otherwise purchased at any Safari Club International, Michigan Chapter
(“SCI”) auction, whether such auction is silent, live or otherwise, is sold “AS
IS” and/or “Final”.  The only exceptions to this are (1) cancellation of the
Item by the outfitter/donor, including the outfitter or donor going
out-of-business, (2) the outfitter’s government and/or country outlawing the
hunt, or (3) the Purchaser’s death where the Item is not transferrable to
another party. These exceptions, however, shall apply only if they occur within
three (3) years of the date of purchase, or prior to the expiration of any
deadlines or booking requirements (i.e., Item must be used within 2 years of
purchase) set forth by the outfitter/donor at the time of purchase, whoever
occurs first. Further, no cancellation or inability to otherwise use the Item
shall have been caused by any act or omission of the Purchaser or the transferee
(if the Purchaser transferred the Item of after purchase), including but not
limited to, failure to timely book the Item before the Outfitter’s quotas or
permits are filled for that year.

 Should any of the above exceptions apply and a Purchaser (or his/her authorized
designee) intends to seek reimbursement for an Item, the following shall be
submitted in writing and within three (3) years of the date of purchase to an
active SCI Board Member or mailed, return receipt requested, to SCI Michigan,
c/o Joe Pederson, 4133 Stone Valley Lane, Twin Lake, MI 49457, with the
following information:

 1. Purchaser’s full name, address, phone number, email address and date of
    purchase.
 2. A detailed letter explaining all circumstances and reasons why the Purchaser
    seeks reimbursement. The letter shall include, among other things, actual or
    approximate dates of communication(s) with the outfitter/donor, as well as a
    detailed description of the Purchaser’s discussions with the
    outfitter/donor, including the outfitter/donor’s responses.  The Purchaser
    shall enclose a copy of all supporting documentation that he/she desires be
    reviewed and considered by SCI, as well as a copy of the correspondence
    received from the outfitter/donor, postal service or agency.
 3. Outfitter/Donor’s name, location and address (if available), as well as a
    detailed description of the Item and purchase price (while not necessary if
    proof of purchase can be substantiated via other means, a copy of the Item
    auction form would be beneficial).

Once received, the request will be reviewed by a committee consisting of at
least two SCI Board Members.  Among other things, the Committee will make every
attempt to contact the outfitter/donor to verify the facts and circumstances, as
most Items are donated due to long-standing and/or good relationships between
the outfitter/donor and SCI, so it is important to hear the outfitter/donor’s
side.

Upon completing its review, the Committee shall submit the Purchaser’s request
and documentation, along with the Committee’s recommendation to the Board for
approval or denial.  All action by the Board is within its sole discretion.  The
Purchaser (or designee) shall be notified in writing of the Board’s decision. 
Purchasers should expect a minimum of 60 to 90 days after submitting all
documentation before any Board action.
