20th October 2023, marked a momentous occasion with the Unboxing of Metaverse
2023 and the Launch of the Industry Competency Model (ICM) curriculum, a tribute
to His Majesty’s commitment to fostering IT talent and showcasing GCIT’s
capabilities.

The event showcased various technological advancements, including the GCIT
Kabesa humanoid robot, Generative AI impacting Bhutan’s weaving industry, and
the Bhutanese Odyssey programmable space blockchain. This celebration represents
a significant step in advancing IT education in Bhutan, emphasizing the
importance of preparing the youth for a tech-driven future.
