I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY CODE WHITE GMBH WHERE I WORK AS A FULL TIME BUG HUNTER AND RED TEAMER (SENIOR PENETRATION TESTER). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * * ABOUT ME I am a family man with a heart beating for IT-Security and coding. After managing vocational training I gathered experience in medium-sized companies in Germany. I was then given the opportunity to shift into IT-Security. After implementing security solutions for years I wanted to develop myself further and switched sites to offensive security and pentesting. I was then hired by a big security company in Tübingen where I do about three years to get me started with penetration testing. After coming back to my IT-Sec roots and working for Thinking Objects GmbH again as a penetration tester I once again shifted towards Bug Hunting and Red Teaming and am working now for Code White GmbH in Ulm as a Senior Penetration Tester. Using and developing own tooling and publicly available knowledge I discover and exploit bugs to see if I can compromise Servers/Apps and gain a foothold on the customers edge systems. I am also doing internal assessments and hunt for severe bugs in customers internal networks. Besides that I am doing security research with the goal to responsibly disclose security bugs to vendors. THINKING OBJECTS GMBH IT-Security Consultant (Pentesting)• May 2021 - December 2022 I basically do the same thing as I did with SySS GmbH, but within a smaller company. SYSS GMBH IT-Security Consultant (Pentesting)• March 2018 - April 2021 As a pentester I specialised myself in testing web applications and perimeter system, as well as attacking corporate networks based on a Microsoft Active Directory. I am currently learning all the skills needed for red team assessments, which are for example targeted phishing or physical assessments. THINKING OBJECTS GMBH IT-Security Consultant• 2012 - 2017 In this function I was implementing security solutions like firewalls and endpoint security suites. I was also holding training sessions with content mainly focusing on IT-Security. Also I was author of several blog posts. COMPUTACENTER AG & CO OHG IT Consultant• 2008 - 2012 In this function I was implementing network solutions mainly based on Cisco related hardware. I was trained to implement Cisco switches and routers, as well as wifi hardware. FAVORITE TECH I am always interested in learning new things. So I dig into new technologies now and then. This are my key skills, though. GIT I am fairly used to git now. I use git for almost all of my project. I do use it for private related content, as well as for company related content. PYTHON This is my main coding language. I grew up to conding in python and do use it in almost all of my projects. I love using it for backend logic or for little scripts, which just do have to work quickly. PYTHON FLASK As flask is integrated within python I do love to use it in terms of frontend development. The templating language is easy as well and I love how easy it is to feed it data to render. NODE JS I did use Node JS in some projects before. Still it is not my favourite backend server language. Nevertheless I might use it in the future once in a while. REACT JS I am fairly new to React Js but love the concept of using components and feeding them data to just reuse them to my liking. Also it is performant and has a small footprint. GRAPHQL I prefer a GraphQL based API over REST or SOAP because of the way the data can be presented to a node. It's easy to construct queries and mutations makes handling data much more intuitive in my opinion. GO I recently started learning Go and I love the way it is different from everything I am used to by now. It is fun and challenging to code in Go. SVELTE I did one project in Svelte and fell in love immediately. Svelte is so minimal but so powerful at the same time. So whenever I have to do frontend work again this is my go to framework. * * * * * * * © Copyright 2020 Patrick Hener * © Template by Tim Baker * Design by Styleshout
