Monthly Update | May 2022 Friends, We hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend as we honored the Veterans who have lost their lives while putting their lives on the line for our nation. We are officially jumping into the last month of our fiscal year and our teams in the Greater Houston Area and around the world are gearing up to finish strong! June starts tomorrow, can you believe we will be at the half mark of 2022? Locations are kicking off Mission Week and we are just a few weeks away from our 11th Annual Run to Attack Poverty! That means that there are plenty of opportunities to get involved this upcoming month and we would love for you to join us in awakening potential and provoking transformation in your communities. Whether you decide to volunteer your time, pray for and with us, or give a monthly financial gift, we are grateful for you. With gratitude, Brandon Baca brandon@attackpoverty.org CEO Attack Poverty Emerge Day of Service & Dow 125 Volunteer Serve-a-Thon Friends of Northside was proud to partner with #TeamDow as they act on their purpose to deliver a sustainable future for the world. Last week, our Dow partners helped Friends of Northside to mark 125 years of imagining better. Thank you, Team Dow! Friends of North Richmond Hosted a Toiletry Donation! Friends of North Richmond hosted a giveaway for community residents that included personal necessities and home care items. Ms. Josie, a long time advocate for seniors in the community, and her neighbor, Ms. Elena were both blessed with supplies as they dropped by! This toiletry drive was generously supported by Del Webbs' Men's Club! Through their generous efforts, Friends of North Richmond received two truckloads of donations! 11th Annual Run to Attack Poverty and Juneteenth We are less than 3 weeks away! Have you registered for our Run to Attack Poverty happening on Saturday, June 18th? We will be celebrating freedom in conjunction with Juneteenth! There will be community celebrations and exhibits, so plan to join in after the run! To register to run or sign up to volunteer, visit our website! Register Now! Mission Week 2022 Is God calling you to join Him on a mission? Have you ever wanted to go on a mission trip? Well here is an opportunity right in your backyard this summer! Throughout the month of June, our locations around the Greater Houston area will have opportunities for you and your family, friends, and neighbors to serve alongside each other. Sign up to volunteer! Join us in praying for our international friends! Friends of Uganda High School students at Rushere Christian High School have begun their 2nd term with over 100 students! AP Asia AP Asia team is gearing up for this year's summer camps and they are aiming to expand to 3 more sites than last year! Friends of India During the last month, the House of Love at Friends of India provided basic needs for 60 children in the orphanage! Thanks to your support!
