SOLUTIONS FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES

Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health
services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families
living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of
behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from
outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

GERSON SCHOOL MAKERSPACE

THE PIECES ARE STARTING TO COME TOGETHER!

Since we last met in June 2022 for our annual Keeping the Promise event,
Applewood Centers has been very busy with the newest enhancement to the Gerson
School, our alternative day school for students in grades 6-12 who benefit from
a personalized, therapeutic environment. Thanks to the generosity of people like
you, we are able to create a Makerspace! This innovation lab will enable Gerson
staff to integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and
Mathematics) into the curriculum, building upon the already impressive school
program. The Makerspace will provide the necessary tools and resources for
students to have a hands-on, personalized, and collaborative experience while
also expressing their unique creativity in a modern learning space.
