COUNSELLING SERVICES

TASH GLOVER

Counsellor and Professional Coach

Sometimes in our life, our journey has some uneven paths, the biggest mountains,
and the lowest valleys. In these times if you choose to journey with me, you
will be offered a non-judgmental and holistic safe space to talk freely, openly,
and honestly. Within the person-centred model, you will be at the centre of your
own personal journey.

Each session will be guided by you allowing unravelling of your thoughts and
feelings with reflection. Leading hopefully to awareness, healing and change by
hearing your own voice in a holistic and calm environment. I can also offer you
solution-focused therapy for those times when you may need a little help to be
able to focus on your issue when more guidance is needed.

Life is a journey of the unknown, we sometimes have periods in our lives when we
find ourselves being taken to our knees, unable to navigate on our own path.

The Phoenix is a mystical and mysterious creature, from the ashes arises renewal
and new life. At Phoenix Renewed, I believe we all can rise from the ashes
revitalised and refreshed.

Over the course of my career in education as a therapeutic mentor, I have helped
countless families cope with a range of emotional and psychological challenges,
including loss, change, and difficulty. My expertise in resolution based
counselling have been particularly valuable to many families, helping them
navigate through the complex emotions associated with numerous difficulties and
concerns.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Tash

Meet Tash, who wears multiple hats in her life. She is a devoted wife and mother
of four beautiful children, juggling the demands of parenthood while still
managing to pursue her passions. Tash is also a proud owner of three adorable
dogs, who keep her busy with their playful antics. Despite her busy schedule,
Tash finds joy in spending time with her family and furry friends, and loves to
create memorable moments with them. With her kind heart and strong will, Tash is
an inspiration to all those around her.

In addition to her roles as a wife, mother, and dog owner, Tash has also
dedicated the last 20 years of her life to education. With a wealth of
experience under her belt, Tash has honed her skills as and mediator and mentor
and has become an expert in her field. Her work with families has been
extensive, and she has helped countless parents navigate the complexities of
raising children in today’s world. Tash has a deep understanding of the
challenges that families face and is passionate about finding ways to support
them. Her expertise in education and her compassion for others make her a
valuable asset to any community. Whether she is working with children or
parents, Tash is always committed to making a positive difference in the lives
of those around her.

I am a practitioner of person-centred therapy. Person-centred counselling is one
of the humanistic modalities or approaches. A person-centred therapist believes
that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and
become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’. This actualisation
process is innate and accessible to everyone.

To help you achieve self-actualisation, the person-centred therapist will offer:

unconditional positive regard (UPR) – accepting and valuing you
congruence – being honest and transparent in how they experience you and your
world
empathic understanding – seeing your viewpoint as if they were you

Based on my experience in education and work with families, it is clear that one
of my strengths is my ability to come alongside families and help them work
through difficulties to find a resolution. Through my years of experience, I
have developed strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow me to
build rapport with families and create a safe space for them to share their
concerns. I may also have a talent for active listening, which enables me to
understand the root causes of any issues and identify potential solutions that
can work for everyone involved. Additionally, my extensive experience in
education has given me a deep understanding of child development and family
dynamics, which can be invaluable in helping families navigate challenging
situations. Overall, I believe my strengths in this area make me a valuable
resource for any family seeking support and guidance.

Many clients, with no prior knowledge of counselling, believe that the
counsellor will sort their problems out for them. A person-centred counsellor
will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and
worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.

During our sessions, I will help you to realise what resources and support are
available to you that you can use to work through your own issues, build your
self-confidence and appreciate that you always have options. I will treat you as
the expert on yourself, as no-one else knows exactly what it’s like to be you.

I will not judge you, no matter what you bring to the session. This helps build
a trustworthy relationship in which you can feel free and supported to disclose
whatever is troubling you. Eventually it will lead you to discover your own
abilities and autonomy, so that you can cope with current and future problems.

Counselling/therapy can be useful for anyone who wants to explore the way
they’re thinking or feeling further, as well as for anyone experiencing a
problem or issue they are keen to resolve. People may choose to speak to a
counsellor/therapist because they feel they cannot speak to their other
half/friends/family about such personal issues, or they may simply wish to speak
to a professional with an objective viewpoint.

Some of the issues we can work through within counselling/therapy include the
following:

Addictions or substance abuse
Wherever there is a physical addiction to a substance or activity – there is
likely to be a psychological addiction too. Counselling/therapy aims to relieve
psychological addiction by exploring the root cause while helping to develop new
ways of thinking.

Bereavement
Losing a loved one is a difficult event in anyone’s life. The loss can bring up
a wide range of emotions including guilt and anger. Some people benefit from
speaking openly to a counsellor about their feelings to help ease the process
and resolve any remaining issues they may have.

Bullying
Being the victim of any form of abuse – verbal, emotional or physical – can lead
to issues that may affect you all of your life. Counselling can offer victims
the chance to seek help from authorities (if appropriate) as well as address the
psychological repercussions in a safe environment.

Illness
Suffering from a long-term illness such as cancer or dementia can turn anyone’s
world upside down. Counselling can help sufferers come to terms with their
illness while offering emotional support and coping mechanisms.

Mental health
Suffering from a mental health issue such as schizophrenia or depression can
feel incredibly isolating. Counselling/therapy looks to discuss the feelings
that arise in conjunction with these kinds of mental health issues, as well as
overcome any personal challenges or frustrations.

Relationships
As someone with extensive experience working with families, I understand the
importance of strong relationships within a family unit. Parent to child
relationships are perhaps the most fundamental, and it’s essential to cultivate
trust, respect, and open communication. It’s also crucial to support each other
and show empathy, especially during difficult times. Couples relationships are
another vital aspect of family life, and it’s essential to prioritize quality
time together and maintain a strong emotional connection. Good communication and
effective conflict resolution strategies can help couples navigate challenges
and strengthen their bond. Beyond these, there are other forms of family
relationships that are equally important, such as relationships between
siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. These relationships are
often shaped by shared experiences, traditions, and values. Ultimately, the
quality of our family relationships can profoundly impact our wellbeing and
happiness, and it’s vital to invest time and effort into nurturing them.

Trauma
Whether you’ve been involved in an accident or you have been the victim of
abuse, the psychological impact of trauma can last years after the event itself.
In a counselling session, trauma victims are encouraged to explore their
feelings regarding the incident and look into how these could be resolved or
changed.

Other issues
Feelings of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem are becoming all too common in
today’s society. Counselling/therapy can offer practical advice for overcoming
these kinds of issues, as well as allowing you the space to vent your
frustrations and feelings.
