patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

 

Description
As reported by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), an individuals risk of
severe COVID-19 worsens based on having underlying medical conditions or
comorbidities.  Learners will be informed on the unique challenges of COVID-19
infection for people of reproductive age.

 

Learning Objectives 
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:


 * Delineate the link of comorbidities risk and the importance of early disease
   management, with a focus on women's health.
 * Evaluate the increased morbidity and mortality risk in COVID-19 patients who
   are of reproductive age.

Joint Accreditation Statements
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and
implemented by The American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is
jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for
the healthcare team.

AMA Credit Designation Statement - Physicians
The American Heart Association designates this activity for a maximum of 0.50
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

MOC Statement
Successful completion of this CE activity, which includes participation in the
evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 0.50 MOC points in
the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification
(MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CE
credits claimed for the activity. It is the CE activity provider's
responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the
purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement – Physician Assistants
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified
for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a
recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of
0.50 hours of Category I credit for completing this program.

AANP Credit Acceptance Statement – Nurse Practitioners
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1
CreditTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement - Nurses
The maximum number of hours awarded for this CE activity is 0.50 contact hours.

AAFP Credit Designation Statement - Physicians
The AAFP has reviewed COVID-19 Tweetorial Series and deemed it acceptable for
AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 01/31/2022 to 01/31/2023. Physicians
should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation
in the activity.  This session is approved for 0.50 AAFP Prescribed credits.
